    Getting on paper when zeroing?

Another method of bore sighting uses a mirror.. take steady aim into a mirror and twist the windage untill your crosshairs line up with the muzzle.. not a good way for elevation but between looking through the bore, and using a mirror , elevation and windage should be close ..

Zeroing at 200 yards and beyond

A lot of hunters subscribe to the maximum point blank range (mpbr) philosophy. Which as stated above is the range in which you can direct hold and still hit within the kill zone. The mpbr would be different for varmint say 3” kill zone vs deer’s 6”. However, most hunting scopes don’t have target...

    It will be 1.6 over at 100 with a 200 zero. ;)

Zeroing at 200 yards and beyond

You ain’t got a musket!!? My old man taught me that way and it worked, not saying it’s right or new school tactical shit :D It’s not that big a hold under... like two pecker lengths (2”). One setting for most all hunting ranges may be old but still works.

Zeroing at 200 yards and beyond

I zero for 200 when hunting, minute of deer accuracy , treat anything closer to a 6 o’clock hold. Gets me out to about 275 before it falls below 6”.. pretty much give em the crosshairs and squeeze. 25 yard zero gets me close on elevation...for 308 Pretty sure 100 yard zero is like the...

First LR rifle ever. First day at the range.

Get on paper at 25 first, shoot a tall target crank your elevation, note the rise, work the turrets and recheck, then shoot for zero at 100. Note everything :D

Advanced Marksmanship POI on Barricades and other positional shots

I’m not a comp guy but I did stay at a holiday inn once. Can’t say I’m the best prone shot because every time I lay down in the field I can’t see over shrubs and vegetation , now barricades... If throwing the rifle across the door of a pick up, utilizing a dead tree, or shooting backwards out...

    Advanced Marksmanship Blinking

I make no excuses for not investing in some of these new fangled electronic noise dampening devices. I’m sure I would be more apt to wear them when hunting. I try to wear foamies when shooting the range and perhaps they’re not dampening enough sound ?! However I think it’s more the scope...

    Advanced Marksmanship Blinking

Took some slo mo video of myself shooting and noticed I’m blinking ! Comes as a surprise because I though I wasn’t . I can see the blast and call the shot but it seems the millisecond after I have to put a quick blink in. I practiced my way out of it with a handgun and can’t quite seem to dail...

What was your biggest “aha!” Moment as a beginner?

I think my biggest is taking notes. I don’t get all too technical with it but do plot my shots now and also critique my results. Don’t use anything fancy just a little notebook , it’s coded so nobody can steal my dope, it looks like the shorthand of a doctor whilst being attacked by baboons...
