Are you zeroing point of aim/point of impact? A lot of folks try to zero like 3 inches high at 100 and think they'll good out to whatever distance when they are in fact too high.

I've never had a slam fire in literally thousands of handloads through AR's and M1A's and during the last primer shortage I loaded both rounds with federal primers. I uniform the primer pockets on ALL my brass so any primer sits in the cup at the same depth.

For my 125gr ballistic tip I use 44.2gr of RE15 and light it with a CCI 200. Get 2950fps and dime sized 5 round clusters at 100 through a 26" 1/12 ROT factory R700 barrel
I bought several when regular gen2 p-mags were the next best thing. Gen2 p-mags didn't fit so well in my chest rigs pouches they were a very tight fit. E-mags fit snug but can still be removed more quickly. I haven't tried the gen3's as I have enough e-mags. The gen3 took the best parts of the...
I'd go with a .308 I load my own ammo so I'd load up some 125 grain ballistic tips for low recoil varmint hunting some 150gr Partitions for deer season and some 175gr SMK's for distance work.
