Admin considering cutting or eliminating VA disability payments depending on income.

The pendulum has swung too far the other way. Many WWII, Korea and Vietnam vets weren’t given much for their disabilities. Now any vet seems to get 50% going out the door. We all give something for our service, but as a over 50 service member, with over 5000 military helicopter hours, and...

So extended mags only? A 5 round mag in that chassis could be tough. That being said, I’m looking forward to this hitting the streets… someday.

Need a backpack for air travel. Maxpedition, or??

Vertx Gamut/Gamut 2.0 is a solid choice. Very versatile and doesn’t scream tactical. Wish they still did the old colors though.

A little more light pool side reading for you… https://wavellroom.com/2022/11/16/fighting-power-and-the-war-in-ukraine/ And if you’re interested in the cliff notes: “The physical component Ukraine has the physical edge. This wasn’t the case at the start of the war, where Russian overmatch in...

Is something going on in Ukraine?

Is something going on in Ukraine?

Yeah… this. Along the same lines, there’s a lot of posting about how bad it is for the Ukrainian soldiers. News flash. War is really bad for all soldiers. Pretty sure no one posting in this threat has spent any time on the ground in Ukraine, or in prolonged protracted full scale war...

    Tikka T3X varmint 223

I’d save your money and get a KRG stock to run AICS type mags. I loaded some 75 grain ELD-M’s to and OAL around 2.4”. Plenty of room. I’m running the KRG Whiskey, but the KRG Bravo would perform as well for way less money. That being said. The Whiskey chassis is nice. Stock before bolt...

My thoughts on 22lr barrel length...

Here it is, I purchased it second hand from a guy in Indiana. It was built by Mark Penrod. It’s my first/only rifle with a tuner and I do think it helps. When tuned, I think it improves groups .1 - .2” If I could improve one thing on the rifle it’d be the trigger. I’m pretty sure it’s a...

My thoughts on 22lr barrel length...

Can you expand some more on the performance of the shilen ratchet barrel? Been thinking of building up a v360 and I really like the idea of Mark Penrod doing the work. I’d like to try a 26” barrel. Essentially creating a modern day 52 bull barrel...

My thoughts on 22lr barrel length...

Long barrels… I too feel as if they work best, my best shooters are long barreled rifles. I own/have owned several Winchester model 52’s. Pre A’s, B’s, C’s and a D. All that I currently own wil shoot sub 1” at 100 on a 6x5. The Bull Barrel and the cut down C (24”) will shoot .7-.75 on low...

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

RFS99 I actually bought the rifle second hand, but the rifle was barreled, chambered and bedded by Mark. I don’t know if mark installed the tuner on it, but I’ll tell you it works. The trigger is decent and may have been worked on, but it is still the factory trigger. For accuracy, it’s...

Less Sad Face - mini chassis replaces bad bedding

Unless you're really concerned about how it looks, I wouldn't worry about it. The bedding under the tang is uniform and it's pillar bedded. As long as the recoil lug area is solid, I doubt you'll have any accuracy concerns.

Anschutz 1710 Comp XLR a viable alternative?

I have tried Center-X, and it hasn't impressed me in the 1710 or in my Vudoo. It does shoot well in the Begara B-14r. So much so I bought a case before things got crazy. It's really weird, Center-X is consistent (1-1.5 @ 100), but has never produced the really small groups like Eley (I've...
