    Plandemic video

Personally, I'm tired of the extremes. Plandemic? Nah. Zero tolerance policy? yes. Make a mistake in the corporate world or politics, you're toast. On the other side of the coin, personal responsibility is gone. Many Americans no longer take personal responsibility for their actions...

Lot testing of 22 LR Ammo - How do you test ammo lots?

If you're lot testing on your own, take a page from guys that run tuners on their .22's. use a target with multiple bulls, like 4 across and 4down. shoot four across with lot A, next row lot B, etc. By using the same target for multiple lots, with several groups with each lot, you'll get a...

Buying a high $$$ gun on SH - need advice please

I've done several 1-2.5K deals on SH and other websites. Can't say I've had a bad deal. I bought a used Vudoo for 2k, and was a little concerned, but the seller shipped through an FFL to my FFL and that made me feel much better about the deal. FFL's exchanged info before we exchanged money...

Passenger lands King Air when pilot dies

If you're a low time single engine pilot suddenly thrust into a turbine twin… The King Air is hard to beat. Even with it being a docile twin, the guy did a great job.

    Anschütz 54.18 MSR

Well, I shot my 1827 stock for awhile, shooting from a bench I had trouble with the stock moving. Now, I'm talking benching the rifle, not field work, so it made it difficult to see how well the rifle would shoot. I solved the issue with a small strip of no slip fabric wrapped and pinched...

    Anschütz 54.18 MSR

Those are amazing looking rifles, however, I've always wondered about the smooth wood buttplates. I have one on my 1827 and it's slippery. If you're not wearing a no slip surface shooting jacket they're all over the place. Anyone have insight on why they'd use that on a running boar rifle...

Reubenski, very nice and consistent. I think this 5x10 game is going to be good! Time for me to up my game!

how to clean a precision rimfire 22 barrel ?

Clean a rimfire bore? Hardly ever… Then when I do, Kroil for full bore and something for the carbon buildup at the chamber. Kroil seems to work well for smallbore. As to Donireno 's 52, shoot, keep shooting, and change ammo. I've had very good success with P100 in a couple rifles, but Eley...

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

Updated the scope base on the H&R from the dovetail to a Nightforce cantilever 20 MOA base. Had to re-zero. My 6x6 after the adjustments. .58” with a best group of .31 at 100... one consistent rifle.

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

It certainly is, and I completely lucked into it. Picked it up off Rimfire Central, seller didn't really point out the M. Penrod part on the barrel so most seem to think it was an average M12. I'd talked to Mark about working on one of my 52's so I knew of his work. So I figured if Mark Penrod...

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

Calm weather prevailed again today, so I made the best of it. The M12 pulled a .571” 100 yard average. Personal best with that rifle. Working through some Eley lot testing. With the current tuner setting, this rifle seems to excel with something in the 1060-1065 FPS range. Such an...

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

100 yards indeed. And thank you, but I gotta say Mark Penrod built a heck of a rifle. Starting to push back to 203 yards more often. (my range is a bit non-standard) May have to do a 6x5 at 200! Stepped up my game and made wind flags. Showed me quite a bit in today’s outing. The correlation...

    6X5 Thread V5.0 *new 1/1/21*

Winds were reasonably calm today. So I pulled out the Mark Penrod built H&R model 12. Had a mild 2-5MPH wind switching from left to right. As you can see on the 9x5, the first 3x5 had some left dispersion. However, the next three went so well I didn’t let up and ran with another 3x5 to see...

    22 Zero Range?

I'm the odd guy out. I shoot primarily at 100 yards + so I zero at 100 yards and dial up/down from there.

    rimfire benchrest fundamentals

Dash makes a good point as well. Breathing, bag location, cheek weld and your pressure on the rifle all need to be consistent. I do think maintaining good contact with the rifle (downward pressure on the rear stock and bag, rear pressure on the bag with the left hand and cheek weld) is a good...

    rimfire benchrest fundamentals

Cuzz, I wasn't kidding when I said you were wringing every .1 out of your groups! I reallly think it may come down to ammo. I spent the day today shooting over the chronograph. While things don't fall apart at 50 yards, you may be seeing the variation of velocity. While Center X is good, it...
