New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I'm shooting a 6.5 creedmoor with the new nosler rdf 140 grain with a g7 of .330 at around 2800fps. What distance would you recommend trueing the bc and velocity to be able to get consistent hits between 400 and 1500?
Same thing happened to me trued at 1000 and then was off at 800 using match grade ammo and roughly same temp and da with a kestrel. I've read bc changes with velocity so I'm going to play with it and see if it's a little closer!
How would one go about figuring out a true bc. I have a magneto speed and can read my mv. Could I shoot at 800 yards and then change my bc until my dope on my kestrel matches or is it more in depth than that?
Thanks ill check that out on the computer when i get back to the house. I shot about 100 rounds between that at everything between 400 and 800 with a lot of positional shooting. Wasnt till i went back out to the 890 and 1050 target that i was shooting prone that i noticed it was off.
I am new to all of this so I am trying to learn more. I experienced the same thing with 140 rdf bullet that I was loading and watch it happen to several other shooters as well. Saw a post that said bc changes with initial mv. Should I tweak my bc to get on target instead of trueing my mv in my...
i am using prime 6.5 creedmoor at the moment. Input mv off the box. Zeroed at 100 right after its was sprinkling. Took 5 shots at 1050 trued mv in kestrel. Several hours later take a shot at 890 and its .3 mils high? i would say maybe 5 degree difference in temp. Using the g7 bc of .289. It's in...
Looking at ordering a of these. I hunt and shoot prs. Have you used yours for ranging small targetd at distance? Do they seem to give consistant measurements?
