    Has anyone tried with success, Hodgdon powders other than Varget or H4895 in the 6BR? I'm interested in trying some CFE 223 as its burn rate is near the Varget area. So is Leverevolution, which my 6Arc seems to enjoy.

    Thanks for posting this. I'm working on a load for a 20" gasser and I'm having similar patterns using 29.5 LVR and Berger 108 VLD Hunts. Velocity is Avg 2592. Can't make the darn thing shoot inside an inch all the time. I'm jumping them around .070 due to performance and magazine. Not impressed...

    Is a Data Book Necessary?

    I keep a barrel book. I keep track of round count and every 200 or so I radar again to see if we are staying put or what is going on. I find it handy to anticipate when the barrel goes south and when its time to get a new one.

    Do you hunt off a tripod? If so what is your flavor and attachment method? I've started using the Anvil 30 on a PVA tripod. It's a loving, nurturing relationship. Unless you're a pig then its deadly.

    I've used 30 grains with good success at .020 jump. An acquaintance uses 31 grains. Thats too hot for my tastes. Good luck!
