They do the same with gophers and rats.

I read that too fast and thought they were pumping in sewer water. Now it doesn’t seem so bad….

Oh man, you are lucky that didn’t break your clavicle! It’s always the stuff you don’t see coming and wouldn’t expect it to be an issue.

Also ran into this while coming down one of the expert lines. Luckily it was in a spot that wasn’t hard to stop before hand. It was slightly more than I could bunny hop though, haha

I think this is a cool idea. There’s a company here that has been partnering with the trail commissions to set up cameras at key points on trails (jumps, berms, etc). You pay a yearly fee ($50) and you get a tag for your bike. When you ride past the camera, the tag triggers it and takes your...

    Long range snipery guy

OP, I can already tell your time here will be beneficial. First things first, go ahead and post some of your exploits in the Bear Pit. That should get all the “boomers” engaged to set you on the right path.

Yep. Sent mine to bushnell and they sent one that doesn’t do it.

    Tracking deer with no blood

Several years ago I had a similar experience. Thought I made a decent shot but the arrow looked like yours. Very little blood and had fat on it. Deer barely bled for about 30ft then nothing. Searched for 2 days and found nothing. Finally resigned that I got him in the brisket and it probably...

No, I haven’t ridden that area so let us know if it’s worth the stop. Gonna be a beautiful week to ride Bville though!

Hunting & Fishing Night Hunting - Optics Preference

From my experience budgeting for night shooting looks something like this… Step 1: I’ve got $1k, what kind of NV gear can I get? Step 2: What I bought was complete junk, I need at least $3k for a decent rifle mounted thermal. Step 3: that thermal is great but scanning is a pain, I’ll need...

Night Vision Filter for a PVS-14?

@Lowdown3 is spot on. When I first started running mine I wanted the gain high because it needs to go to 11! Over time I figured out that keeping it dimmer helps with eye fatigue reduces a lot of noise and makes it easier to use your other eye. For dual band the brightness on my thermal is...

Night Vision Filter for a PVS-14?

I agree with the gain. Turn it down to where it isn’t as harsh. Also look into getting an snb filter. It softens the image a bit and also helps clean up some noise.

    Where's the ammo shortage ?

My local places are wiped out on rifle ammo so feel free to send me some

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Thought this was interesting and surprising to me. Got a younger one the other night, hit it broadside right behind the front shoulder at about 70 yards. Bullet didn’t pass through, completely unharmed on the other side. Had similar results on 3 others. Using a 77gr TMK at 2500fps.

I have come to expect this from you…. 😜

Night Vision IR Flood for Navigating

I picked up a Sionyx digital nv device in a trade to let my kids use but it needs some IR light in really dark conditions. What’s a good IR flood that can be used on a helmet for navigating? I’ve got a few here but they are all way more spot than flood.

Night Vision Help me spend money on NODs (or not)

I would go with the second tube. You are going to notice the better EBI in very dark conditions. You won’t notice that small jump in SNR. Plus if that tube just seems more uniform/clear it seems like a winner

Night Vision Help me spend money on NODs (or not)

If it were me then I’d get a pvs14 for dual band. It’s currently a gap in your setup and will give you capabilities you don’t currently have. Find gaps, fill gaps, then get backups for when stuff goes down.
