    I use one on my sr25 in the capacity you described. The weight and size is great for it in my opinion. I enjoy the lower profile turrets as well. As noted above the scope cap spinning with the objective can be annoying, so I just took it off.

    What brand is your most trusted AR15?

    If I had to grab one ar and go, it would be my 16" sr15 mod 2. Light enough to carry all day and accurate to 800 or so with the 1-10 on it.

    Clubsportmark, my current plan is a 20" barrel contoured for an aem5, which reflexes about 2.5" from the muzzle. Sam, I should have known it would be that simple. I didn't know if the handguard had a nominal length like some on the market do. Some quick math says I should be ok, but barely.

    I sold a few rem700s to fund an AIAT, and I wish I had done it sooner. I wouldn't really be concerned with barrel life quite yet, just get some time behind the rifle.

    The barrel came in and it's currently on it's way to RW Snyder for a face lift. Maybe I'll see it by the end of the year, beginning of the next.
