New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I built mine as a .223 AI and I love it. I shoot over 150 rounds a week with it and i would destroy my 260 doing that and could never afford it. Awesome gun... 223s are so fun.
I think im gonna give it a whirl in a 26" 7.5 twist. If the H1000 doesnt get it there I can always try a hotter powder and just swap back to the 6.5 when it burns up.
Im looking to build a hot 6 next year for my next PRS gun. I am interested in running the 110 SMK's at around 3100 fps. I would like to do it with H1000 in order to squeek enough barrel life out to last a season. I have a 223 AI training rifle that will get most of my training abuse (3000+...
My buddy had a 26 nosler from them that was a dud and they took it back after 300 rounds of testing (like half a barrel lol) and replaced it in 300 win mag for no charge.
New one seems to shoot good but he hasn't done any load development.

I'm working on my own little XLR family...
300 win mag on left... 260 rem in middle and a soon to be 223AI trainer on the right.

Shit. I didn't even know those existed yet?
I assume they are American made right at XLR, and not subbed out?

Yes you do for subsonics. Flatbase and roundnose bullets will stabilize at a slower twist of a bullet of the same weight but longer.

I just ordered my third carbon chassis. I have one on a 300wm, One on a 260 match rifle and one coming in now for a .223 training rifle.
Love em.

I think they are a carbon wrapped McGowan barrel if I recall...
I'm sure they'll do well, but knowing that I'm not sure of they'll compete with a premium barrel.

You guys are correct. I do run a flashhider on my sbr. The other rifles have brakes. The carbon around the bottom of the baffle doesn't concern me...mainly just the erosion.

Problem is that the 6.5 bullets are getting pretty light. If you wanna keep them subsonic, youll need to run heavies... but good luck stabilizing a 147 out of a 8.5 twist barrel at subsonic velocities. For subs, you want a short heavy bullet. That is not what a 6.5mm is good at.
The below can has the following round counts;
11.5" 5.56 Semi Auto: 2500 rounds
18" 308 Bolt action: 1100 Round
23" 260 Bolt Action: 950 Round
10" 300 BLK: 300 Subsonics
28" 300 Win Mag: 300 Rounds
?
Thats little over 5000 rounds. Is this kind of baffle erosion typical?
