New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
This is the same dimensions as the mr63fc but has only the 10 and x filled to save on ink when printing. Obviously not regulation but im just practicing.
Just shot my first "course of fire" for practice tonight with my savage against a buddy of mine.
He scored a 196-5x.
How do you score a target if the lead "ring" of the bullet doesn't break the ring, but the tears in the paper do? Do you find center and measure outwards then?
Hole in...
I had an LRS and liked it until I tried to stretch it out. Tracked very well, but on the way back down it would lose zero.
Good glass though...
I sold it (after fully disclosing to the guy the issues) and bought a Viper PST with the money and never looked back.
Update.
I went with the load .020" off the land.
Chrono'd 15 shots today.
AVG: 2544
ES: 9
SD: 4.2
Here is the first group at 100 yards. 5 shots, cold bore. Props to Criterion and sierra...damn accurate hunting bullet.
1st group is .005" jam, "3rd" is .005" off and "6th" is .020" off.
The first two groups had .8mils of elevation...the last had .7. Overshot my correction.
My question is which would you choose and why? Go for tightest group or least vertical spread
huh.. well damn. TAKE MY MONEY.
But first...Im gonna have to get the headphone jack in my phone repaired now. Damn thing has a short in it so im guessing this wont work in it.
You can most defiantly use a cam over press... you just cant cam it over. Run your dies farther in so It bottoms out on the shell holder before you approach the top of the stroke.
Im loading 175 SMK's into Lapua brass, BR2 primers and Varget for a Savage 10FCP, Broughton Barrel.
I prefer neck sizing more for brass life and concentricity. Ive been seeing my lapua brass lasting 20-25 reloads with annealing every 5 reloads. Usually no more than .0005"-.001" runout. I've...
Hello all,
New barrel is on the way. Also ordered 200 more pieces of Lapua brass.
Traditionally I only neck size my brass with a lee collet die. Seeing as all the brass is new, do I need to fire form it in order to get valid results? Ideally this would be how you do it... but its a waste I...
I shoot there.. fun place.
I wish the hillside was in better shape. Its not very well irrigated and the road washes out and you can forget about driving up in anything but a 4x4. Im about 1.5 hours away so driving a truck up is hard on gas.
It is what it is....
This is my rustoleum jobber
This is my first attempt at an ATACs camo. Its alittle browner so it will blend into our woods.
I use a Khaki base coat and then use old socks to blot tone in and then use q-tip to dab in patches and highlight. Can wait until my barrel shows up so I can finish...
One thing I like about FFP optics is being able to correct my holdovers quickly without zooming back out to measure how far I was off.
Oops...I hit .7 mils low. ZIP ZIP ZIP... BOOM..............................DING.
Don't forget about the Bushnell XRS with the G2 reticle. Very nice glass for...
This is the main issue... missing is one thing, but not knowing which way you need to correct is frustrating.
Ill get a 20 incher and use it at 1000...
Maybe get a 12" or 16" for 800 yards.
Ill stick to the 8" for 600 yards.
