Please give me a clue (because I am totally clueless)

I don't remember who wrote it but there is a book about sniper rifles that credits John Browning for the M1 Garand.

Trying to balance fuel economy and getting around in deeper snow with vehicle purchase

Are you replacing the trucks or buying an additional vehicle? How good does the fuel economy need to be to offset the cost of purchase?

    Straw purchase question

That sounds incredibly shady and I'd not be willing to do any business with someone wanting to be involved with any of that. And, if it's not a straw purchase, it's close enough that a court case would probably be involved in deciding it.

    Worst Value Optic?

I had a Mk8 at one point. Unless I get around to buying an AX50, I don't think I ever want to buy a scope that physically huge ever again. Side note: reliability/durability>features>glass (provided minimums are met).

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

No pictures but I did the salmon today. Tossed in olive oil and seasoned with a lemonpepper blend. I don't know how to describe it but the sockeye tasted...less than ideal. Took one bite, spit it out, and tossed it. It didn't taste like it had gone bad but it wasn't good either. Maybe it wasn't...

That's probably better than what is taught today...

Because I keep forgetting to pick up pierogies.

Went to Wegmans (local yuppie grocery store chain) today to pick up some salmon, since it's the only place I know of to get salmon that's not from Chile. (Picked up some sockeye and wild caught atlantic salmon to try, so we'll see how that goes.) Also, they do dry aged steaks and I picked up a...

    The worlds greatest sniper?

One of the history channel specials also tested it. It failed to go through on a modern scope but did go through on a scope with fewer lenses.

First They Go After The Little Guy - Battle Over Shooting Ranges

I guess that could help but what are the guys who shoot nonsuppressible firearms supposed to do?

Smith and wesson revolvers 327 pc

Do you mean like a switch barrel? Or are you planning on buying two guns and just want spare parts? Either way, unless they've changed, changing the barrel on the scandium Smiths isn't easy. As far as I know, it's a two piece system and requires some special tools to remove. And if you wanted a...

    How many mags per weapon...

As noted above, that depends on the firearm in question. I'd love to have an AX50 ELR. 4-5 would be plenty and I'd probably only ever use 1-2 actively. I don't think I'd want more than maybe 20 in reserve for something that will see hard use, especially if it's a firearm that uses super common...

    Service Rifle Micrometer Sights

Champions Choice has a picatinny base that should fit your Redfield rear sight. Can't help with the front sight though.

    This definitely sucks. Submarine lost.

It's a bit morbid but can I point out that the "engineers" on this debacle are now part of an extremely small group of people who can say they literally vaporized their boss? I mean, how many people throughout history can say thay?

    This definitely sucks. Submarine lost.

I wonder if any thought they were somehow being ground breaking pioneers using experimental tech.

    This definitely sucks. Submarine lost.

I didn't care about this at first but the memes are fire and the technical discussion is morbidly fascinating.

I think of these kinds of things everytime I see a sticker on somebodies car about real men driving a stick. I can drive a stick but I know it ain't shit compared to working the clutch in a big truck.

That's cheaper than regular ribeyes around here.

Band of brothers - The British tank scene.

Both are shown. The vehicle that fires first is a Tiger. The Jagdpanther then rolled out and fired, which I believe was the shot that took out the lead allied vehicle.

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Local grocery store had Bison ribeyes this past week. Came out medium well. Cup has tomato soup in it.
