Rifle Scopes Vortex PST Gen ll vs Strike Eagle

Another huge factor that many don’t always remember is the Strike Eagle is made in China. The PST line is made in the Phillipenes. I’m sure the cost difference in manufacturing is pretty big. Vortex can pay $50 a scope, charge $300, and replace it 2-3 times and still make $$. Considering the...

Rifle Scopes Minox ZP5 3-15x50, how does it compare to other optics

I have not looked through the 3-15 specifically, but I have looked through and shot another Minox. The glass was super clean, and, as said above, amazingly bright. I remember calling the glass very “crisp.” If that makes sense. I liked it quite a bit. I think Minox is often overlooked in this...

Rifle Scopes Help Picking Scope for First Rifle -- $3k budget

There is ALOT soft good info in this post. Now, if you’re set on a Tier 1 optic, ie: NF, S&B, ZCO, TT, then there is no answer that we here can give you. At that level, they’re ALL fantastic. Most folks will tell you one of two things: buy this brand (insert brand they shoot here), or, shop...

Rifle Scopes 15x NSX To 16x sfp ATac r

If I was looking to upgrade, I’d seriously consider going to a FFP scope. Unless you really need the SFP based on what you do. The FFP’s are so much more versatile. IF you dial, or use any type of ranging with your scope, the versatility of FFP shines. Want to take a shot at 400 yds using...

Rifle Scopes SPUHR SP-4011 “GAP” mount

You will NOT be disappointed in the Spuhr Mount. I know they are a bit tough to swallow in the beginning, but they are HELL BENT for strong. Also, with so many torx bolts on them, you really spread out the clamping force. That 25 in lbs is spread out over a larger area. I have shot my AI in...

Rifle Scopes Shout out and recommendation for Talley rings

While Talley is not what I use anymore, they were the rings that Weatherby recommenced years ago, that is good to hear. I have since moved on to Spuhr and Geiselle, but am glad to hear Talley is still working for some folks, and quietly supporting their customers.

    6.5 LR shooters

The longest confirmed hits were at 1760 yds. I’m very regularly making 1200 with mine. Shooting an AI AT with a DMRLLC 26” Bartlein blank. I shoot factory Hornady 140 ELD-M. They leave my muzzle at 2817, and stay supersonic until just past 1500 with the right conditions.

    KAC LPR rebarrel?

That is 1000% not true. Per Jack, very recently, Kreiger barrels are all that have gone on LPR’s. That is direct from him at KAC. As far as accuracy, mine is as accurate as any AR can ever be expected to be. I shot it at the match in Georgia that Jack and Ash sponsored. I was very satisfied...

Looks really good Sir. Keep up the great work.

    KAC LPR rebarrel?

In the unlikely event that you manage to shoot out the Kreiger barrel that comes on the LPR, I’m absolutely positive that KAC will take care of you. In the overall firearms world, KAC is still very small. They are a family owned company that values customer service. I have it on very good word...

Rifle Scopes Is the ATACR 1-8 really worth two Razor 1-6's?

I personally had the Razor for about 2years. I shot the heck out of it. I finished a Safariland 3 Gun Match with it in June here in Vegas (think 100 + degrees a day). The scope is beyond tough. I shoot almost exclusively Nightforce now, but NOT because the Razor had any durability issues. And...

Rifle Scopes PRS style shooting Razor gen 2 4.5-27 or AMG

I have not ever owned a Razor or an AMG. I am all Nightforce. I have absolutely nothing against them, the various NF offerings just suit me better. I can only offer my opinion based on what I see at matches. The tide is definitely shifting towards NF, and lately Kahles. A couple years ago...

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

I’m aware of that. It is the LEO rep telling me. I’ve been on board since SHOT Show waiting for these. Waiting since January, what’s another month or two ? ?

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

Well, we will see soon enough. I ordered mine. Looking at a July delivery hopefully. Looking forward to getting it an wringing it out. Looks great for a gas gun scope.

    MK12 scope opinions

I wouldn’t put Larue on a pellet gun these days. There are a TON of better options out now. 5-7 years ago.....Larue was one of few options. Now, I’d literally pick most any quality mount over Larue. Geiselle, Badger, Nightforce, Spuhr, ADM Delta, you name it. Larue will mark up your upper...

What are you shooting through 6.5 AR-10?

The 140 AG shoots pretty consistently .8 through my GAP-10, and about the same through my AI bolt gun. The Hornady 140 ELD-M shoots very consistently .5-.6 in my GAP, and .5 in my A.I. I have shot several groups of .3 moa through the A.I. with it. I can’t say it’s slow at all through my GAP...

    Rifle Scopes Scope question??

I will parrot what has been said above, from experience, the offset red dot OR a RMR (which is crazy light) is a solid choice. When I went to the Dual Role Carbine course put on by Jack Leuba (Failure2stop) we shot from contact/CQB out to 850yds with our gassers. Almost everyone not running a...

Rifle Scopes Is the ATACR 1-8 really worth two Razor 1-6's?

It is only “worth it” if it is worth it to YOU. We cannot define your needs and what you value. I had a Razor 1-6, I now shoot the ATACR. For ME it is worth it. Reasons: 1) I use my guns professionally, my LPR May have more than paper in the scope. I value the advantage that the ATACR gives me...

Talk me out of (or maybe into) buying a SIG DMR 6.5 Creedmoor

I will throw in my .2 cents. Do not buy the Sig. the quality of the entire Sig line has been very suspect for the last several years. Some folks are very happy, many are not. I would definitely listen when you have multiple Sig owners in this thread telling you to avoid it. I have a decent bit...

    Range Report 284 winchester build

I would think a Medium Palma would be gtg on that. I shoot a Medium Palma on my A.I. Precision match rifle (NRL competition). I haven’t seen it heat up and string shots in competition yet. Shot a KYL (Know Your Limits) last Saturday and cleaned it twice (10 rapid shots). That would still be...
