Rifle Scopes Geissele Mounts: Impressions and Thoughts

Interesting that you say that while I have PERSONALLY had two Bobros break on me. My own, not “I heard”, or “a buddy”, my personal Bobros broke. One was where I looked down one day and several of the studs used to hold the nuts on were snapped off. Like the caps were still on, but 2 or 3 of the...

Rifle Scopes Nightforce NX8 vs ATACR vs ???

One more thing: I originally used my ATACR on my KAC SR-25, and my NX8 on my 5.56 guns. The ATACR is a bigger scope, and felt great on a .308. Since I sold off my NX8, my ATACR will do double duty on my SPR (5.56) and my .308 depending. BUT, on a short gun, the NX8 will look and feel better.

Rifle Scopes Nightforce NX8 vs ATACR vs ???

Ok, I had both, so I feel like I can talk intelligently about them. First off, glass is very subjective, so I won’t compare the two. Just know the ATACR glass is ED, and it’s on par with any ATACR NF makes. It’s that good. BUT, I don’t feel the NX8 is far behind. I keep hearing about this...

    Bipod for Ar15 PRS

Another vote for Atlas. You only buy the best once. Atlas allows you to set the legs in about 6 possible positions....each side. You can set the legs up forward or backward as your ground permits. They are much more than just two legs that flip down. They really allow you to conform to the...

Rifle Scopes Geissele Mounts: Impressions and Thoughts

I have to respect your opinion. You have your reasons, you laid them out better than most people do. Many folks get defensive and say “because.” I can see your side. I like them, and think that for under Spuhr level they are very solid. If I could have everything in Spuhr mounts I would, but...

    Introducing the AI Obsession Chassis

I’m currently shooting my AI AT in NRL competition. I am still very new to the competitive world of NRL, coming from the 3Gun side of things. I REALLY like what you’re doing here. I would be very, very interested in something like this. I’m not afraid of de-bonding, looking at some of the...

Chamber Rem 700 SA .223 Rem to .223 Wylde??

I’m surprised no one has said this yet: many times 5.56 isn’t as accurate....even in true 5.56 guns. I’ve shot quite a bit of true 5.56 in my KAC’s. Often, Federal GMM in 69 or 77 is more accurate. Hornady TAP in 5.56 is BARELY MOA in the best guns. I have shot 5.56 and .223 in multiple rifles...

Rifle Scopes Glass... Glass.. Glass. I keep reading good glass is everything. Vortex Viper glass opinions?

OP, on a serious note, skip Vortex under the Razor line. Please. Honestly, you can get a Razor Gen 1 for BARELY more than a PST GenII. You can grab Razor GenII used on the EE for $1600-$1800. That’s a great scope by any measure, sans weight. It is heavy. So many folks know about Vortex’s...

    Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 5HD

Because the MK5 actually tracks true. The glass is excellent, the turrets are solid. The scope tracks true, and it’s much more competitively priced. Overall, a solid scope. I’m ALL NF, but I damn near had a MK5 on my GAP-10, but my buddy moved it before I decided that. ?

Rifle Scopes Geissele Mounts: Impressions and Thoughts

I can’t begin to get where you think the quality to cost is out of line. You know these start as a block of billet aluminum, and everything that isn’t the mount is taken off right? For the price, I think they’re a fantastic option. I use Spuhr on my competition rifles. Now those are expensive...

    Accuracy problems with new SPR

Assuming you’ve checked all the usual culprits: mount loose, barrel torque, flash hider tight. I’ve seen a couple small things with gas guns. Couple times I’ve seen front picatinny mounts put on (to hold bi-pods etc) where the mounting bolts hit the gas block under flex. Guy shoots one group...

Where to start on large frame build

I recently did a “proof of concept “ gun to test exactly what you’re looking to do. I have several high end rifles, both gassers and bolts. I have several buddies who are younger guys, stay at home wives, younger children, whatever, but they cannot financially do a $7000 rifle. I absolutely...

    Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 5HD

As Blackfoot 7 said, it’s a great scope. He and I know one another, and have shot together. I don’t have one, but I would trust his opinion. I have another buddy that had one for a bit, and it seemed very solid. I’m a NF guy. They are absolutely my favorite, but.....if I wasn’t so NF, I’d...

    Aero M5E1 6.5 trigger upgrade

Another great choice is the Geiselle SD-E. That’s the straight trigger. VERY nice in a precision semi-auto.

For that unique 308 AR build that none of your buddies have

There’s a reason none of my buddies have one!!! It looks like it survived a house fire! Not my style, but someone somewhere will dig it.

    Rifle Scopes Scar 20 scope?

A Vortex Viper/PST level scope on a SCAR is absolutely asking for trouble. I’d bet a decent check that within 1000 rounds of .308/7.62, you’d break it. I broke a PST on a .308 bolt gun. SCAR’s are notoriously hard on scopes. I’d say in the Vortex line, Razor is it. Other than that, they’re made...

    Rifle Scopes Scar 20 scope?

Absolutely second to NONE!! That’s THE set up on a gas gun.

    Anyone running a LaRue SUURG?

You are absolutely correct. My post is likely NOT the rifle in question. As I stated, it was not mine. I’m going to delete my original post so as to not confuse the OP.

    18” AR Barrels

I’m going to jump in and say this: you’re not running what most Precision guys would consider to be true top end barrels. You’re running medium grade barrels hoping for true top end results. I’m not digging at you, and I hope this isn’t taken that way. If you want to see truly top results, go...
