PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

Really. An ND is an ND, period. Violating any of the 4 cardinal rules at any time (especially in a “game” situation) should never be tolerated in any way shape or form. When I was doing this stuff, even a gamer who put rounds on the clock at tough targets in the dirt to get easy points was sent...

    6.5 Creedmoor once fired brass

Don’t be scared kids, I got some of this brass, and the sized stuff is definitely once fired and sized within .001” of my stuff set for .0015” bump from my match chambered Bartlien. Good stuff from a good guy.

    Rifle Scopes USO EREK question

Hold the outer knob and turn the 1/8 allen. If it’s clicking you may as just be dialing.

Just a PSA 16” 308 I tore apart and rebuilt, doing what I built it to do. Sprinco spring and buffer, 16” stainless 1:10, adj rifle length gas block, RRA Varmint 2 stage, BRT Covert comp, Guntec handguard, ACS-L stock, Ergo deluxe grip, Krylon, USO LR-17 tossing Hornady 150 Interlocks sub MOA at...

Range Report 10 Shot Load Development Results - 6.5 Creedmoor

And by the way, if you’ve got a Creedmoor with a decent tube that won’t shoot around 42.3 H4350 with 140gr pills decently-you’ve got a broken rifle.

Range Report 10 Shot Load Development Results - 6.5 Creedmoor

Both show me the same places I’d chase, 42.4-42.6 and if you’d like a softer, easier on the barrel and brass load, 41.4-41.8.

    Opinions on OCW test....

    Yup.

6.5 Grendel more or less dead?

The market is flooded with whiz-bang small frame AR cartridges. Define the job, then pick the tool. Killing game with a small frame AR at ethical distances?-the Grendel is my go to for everything mulie size on down, period.

Range Report 10 Shot Load Development Results - 6.5 Creedmoor

I’ll round robin groups after 10 shot, but I’m not as meticulous as some with my reloading to trust the ten shot method (I lean more to OBT/OCW technique).

    Rifle Scopes USO EREK question

I pull the bolt and eyeball boresight as close as I can get. You can do final adjustments with either the knob or hex, if it’s turning smoothly I like to use hex-can get the “less than .1” fine adjustment.

PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

With all due respect-if you are gonna video yourself doing an op-Ed in front of a banner that implies you are an expert in the precision rifle community, and you are going to say that a match having the RO on glass and not on the shooter is OK, you sir are part of the problem. ND’s will happen...

PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

Finger should NOT be on trigger until on target, PERIOD. With weapon properly cleared, close bolt on empty chamber, safety off, and drop from 1-1.5ft on butt. If it goes off, fix/adjust trigger.

PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

The RO running the stage should be watching the shooters, period. That dude’s weekend would have ended immediately.

Range Report What changes after 700 yards...?

And yeah, wind is usually at least quarter/half-faster every 10’ above where you’re seeing indicators.

Range Report What changes after 700 yards...?

Believe the bullet. I like to dial my parallax a hair shy of target to see if I can catch mirage. I trust mirage more than wind flags (especially when there’s a lot of flags-too much info can be confounding my big brain when I should just be gut checking off what I see on the gun). Stay on the...

    Change in Speed

H4350 is pretty temp insensitive, but not completely stable. Rounds’ length of time in warm chamber, maybe dew point is different and minute mount of condensation in bore, holding your jaw differently, who knows? I’d log the data and keep an eye on it. I prefer to load develop when it’s warm...

    300wm, why all the hate?

Define the job, then select the tool.

Range Report What changes after 700 yards...?

Yup. Just cause a guy/rifle can get 1/2” groups at 100 doesn’t in any way shape or form translate to 5” at 1000. Lots of QUALITY trigger time helps, because past 600-700 shit becomes more art than science.

    BC Data....truth or dare

wow. A lot of great stuff here, and it makes my head hurt. The OP’s questioning what happened from (maybe) 900 and in under match conditions yet doesn’t have a handle on DA shifts can affect his ballistics. Back to basics: rezero rifle, get SOLID environmental data (DA is your best friend...
