"best" small frame AR 6mm cartridge?

Yeah, I was having significant brain farting going on and realized I was all jacked as soon as I hit “post”. Getting old and long days suck.

"best" small frame AR 6mm cartridge?

But the motivation was predator hunting.for the OP’s stated purposes, I choose the 65Grendel. Better wind at 700+ and still drops coyotes in their tracks.

"best" small frame AR 6mm cartridge?

Super6 SD. Scott at Specialized Dynamics was necking up 22Noslers to 6mm for a while. After working w/Nosler, Nosler dropped it on the market in a 24Nosler version. Rebated rim keeps more meat on bolt, like the 22Nosler. Both have theoretical advantages to being able to withstand pressure better...

Where to start on large frame build

Two things make an AR accurate: barrel and trigger. Two things make large frames run well with a variety of ammo: high pressure bolts and correct gas (different calibers and different length gas systems, and different dwell times will all need different gas). Good AR builders know what to use...

BOYDS STOCK ON MY SAVAGE PROJECT DOESNT FIT.-MODIFY????

I run emery cloth “shoeshine” style (smooth side to barrel of course) while straddling from above with the barreled action sitting in stock. Headless action screws (like used for bedding) and a bridge/nut to keep tension while shaping. Works for me, and winds up better centered than when I’ve...

    KRG Bravo Chassis

I think inletting for Savage Axis and Ruger Americans would pay off, seeing as the Bravo is a “budget” option to the more spendy offerings-it would fit well with the “budget” rifles currently on the market. I know I’d get one for my budget Axis hunter in a heartbeat-and is a better platform for...

6.5 Grendel more or less dead?

Far from dead. It’s my favorite predator and medium game caliber in a small frame AR, and that won’t change with the Internet winds...

Face palm moment for Dick’s sporting goods

Dicks can eat a bag of dicks. They’ve been on my “not a mfkin dime no matter how good a deal they offer” lost for a long time.

Rifle Scopes Should I sell my scope?

The lack of zero stop doesn’t bother me nearly as much as the fact the turret is spring balanced and there’s no indication of what revolution you are on...

    SK rifle match bc?

I stand corrected. My apologies, been out of the 22game for a while (aside from squirreling with my glenfield 60 :ROFLMAO:).

    SK rifle match bc?

SK Match=Lapua Club=Wolf ME. Same lines, same machines, different boxes. I’ve got the email from Lapua on an old desktop somewhere. .120 worked for my 1712 to 100m at 2500DA to 100m and close enough to get real dope for me out further.

PRS Talk 6.5 creedmoor bullet weight for prs.

Elevation is science, wind is voodoo. Higher BC of heavier bullets puts the wind advantage where you need it. The elevation gain at mid-range is a losing trade off to more forgiveness on wind calls in my book. 10-20gr lighter at a higher speed=a wash in felt recoil.

chpprguy is good to go. If I hadn’t just bought something else I’d love to snag this!

    6.5 creedmor?

I’d go Bergara over Ruger Hawkeye in a heartbeat. They shoot well, and take/fit in R700 accessories so can grow better as your needs/wants do.

Advanced Marksmanship Please school me on QUICK wind reading (match skillz)

I hear ya. My actual point is that elevation is science, and wind is voodoo. Different people process differently inside their heads. Engineers will want data, calculations, and numbers whereas folks like me that can’t remember what they had for lunch yesterday want tried and true methods...
