I'll admit now, 40 years after it happened. I got smoked bad in my 73 Nova SS, mild 350, 4 speed by a dude in a purple and yellow AMC Gremlin with a built 258 straight six. He had it cammed, split headered, running a Holly on an Offenhauser intake. Little ugly thing was fast as shit.

Hunting & Fishing Hunting pistol optic questions

I started pistol hunting 30+ years ago. I shoot a 7 1/2" 45 colt Ruger Blackhawk with an old 1.5-4 Weaver scope. I haven't shot it much lately but used to shoot it very well at 100 yards. Longest I took a whitetail was about 70. I'm sure there are much better scopes today. I shoot a 335 grain...

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

It's firearm deer season here in Michigan. I filled one of my buck tags a couple days ago so I took the shot on this guy when he came by this morning.

any recommendations on where to get prescription eye glasses

I almost hate to admit it but I've been getting mine from Walmart vision center in my local Walmart for 25+ years. I have a strong script and always get the Nikon high index lenses. I've had very good luck over the years, only 1 pair needed to be remade because something wasn't just right. The...

    Mountain lion in IL

They're here, we all know it and so does the DNR. I'm glad they say what they do, as soon as they admit we have a breeding population the tree hugging bunny kissers will be screaming about protecting them. That protection could cause closure of some of our public lands to protect the big...

I always liked the small stone under the valve cap. They usually make it home but wake up to 4 flat tires in the morning.

$300 Billion in student loan "forgiven".... how generous

What a crock of shit. I used my savings from the 4H steers I showed and sold at the county fair, a small inheritance from an elderly aunt, and worked a full time and 2 part time jobs to pay for my own college. I attended college full time also. It was a lot cheaper in the early 80's but that...

    Fireworks.........

Started kind of small when fireworks became legal in Michigan, the show gets a bit bigger every year. My in-laws have a cabin in northern Michigan on a couple hundred acre lake. They all chip in and my wife and I purchase all the fireworks and I do the show. A bit over 2 grand worth this year...

    What's in a Username

Lobo is spanish for my last name but I'm not spanish. My first center fire rifle was a 1895 Mauser in 7x57 that my grandfather gave my dad and my dad gave to me. My son now owns it. I've since replaced it with a couple mod 98's in that caliber. I shoot alot of calibers, but that caliber is still...

    Beef Jerky

https://tcsjerky.com/. I'm generally not a fan of packaged grocery store jerkies but bought some of this at my local Michigan Meijer store. It was on sale and I needed a deer blind snack, I was impressed by how good it was.

Maggie’s Why not one more food thread, Braunschweiger

Kogel brand ( not sure on its availability outside of Michigan) on Swarzbrot with Koops stone ground mustard and some sliced onions. The stuff my mom got at the German butcher on 8 Mile in Detroit in the 70's was better, but I'm sure that shop is long gone.
