New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
JP 100% every barrel shoots under 3/4", most under 1/2" in AR15 platform. Just make sure to thermo fit or loctite depending on clearance.
Larue can vary. Have a friend that got lucky on his 308. When I shoot it at 100 yards multiple 3 shot groups are an oval with factory Blackhills Accubond...
Don't have a 308 but the 215 gr berger will shoot just as fast because of the bearing surface.

Post a pic of your form. Sounds like maybe your form is off and it is causing the discomfort.
Mercury recoil reducers work ok if you really want to try something. Commonly used in 12 ga OU shotguns and safari rifles.
Thanks for the info!
Have been curious about that barrel. Rainier just got back with me and said they are using the PTG Absolute Accuracy reamer with the 0.183" freebore. Wonder if that matches your barrel or if they changed things up. Would think 2.81" would be about right with that reamer if...
It is a hybrid design with a hollow nose so odds of staying stable are a little better. Don't know anyone shooting them though. Some reports on accurate shooter forums. They should have lots of info about their experiences so far.
