    147 grain in 308

That bullet probably is not ever going to shoot great. It wasn't made for match grade accuracy. I suggest saving your components for a better bullet. Load those up and save them for riot control!

Mixing different lots of same powder into one

I've done this and it works fine. I mostly do it when a jug of powder has been used until there is not enough left to load up another batch of ammo. I dump the leftover into the new jug and rotate it by hand for a few minutes. Static has not been a problem.

Best tool to deprimer Lake City brass?

I've deprimed thousands of cases on my press using the universal Lee die. Military cases are not a problem with it. I broke one pin in all that time. That case had a small piece of pea gravel in it.

    Tulsa gun show

I'll be passing this years shows. Hopefully the Covid will be under control by next year. I started going to this show years ago. I went to something like 37 or 38 in a row before missing one due to work. Several of my guns came from those shows. I've found a lot of deals there. Several sets of...

    teach me about case trimming

I have an old chart from Ohaus, old as in ancient, that list the max length and the suggested trim to length. Most of the trim to lengths are 10 thousands shorter than max. All of the loading manuals that I have list case length numbers. Slightly shorter won't hurt anything but too long can...

    Modifying factory ammo

Yeah, you're right. I read one thing and though something else.

    Modifying factory ammo

I wouldn't hesitate to seat them to where you need. You're only talking .004-.005. Just to be cautious I might start by seating 1 or 2 and shooting them and looking for pressure signs. That is, if the bullets are not crimped.

    Good News for Arkansas

Knock on wood, I don't want to jinx anything. But a few good things have happened to Arkansas lately. Sig has a facility here. CZ is suppose to build a plant here. Remington's ammo plant is back up and running and I'm even seeing some Remington signs back up in stores. They just passed a stand...

Are primer pocket uniformers good or bad?

I've been doing both for a long time. Truthfully I can't tell the difference between doing it and not doing it. And I have a few pretty accurate rifles. But it makes me feel good. I use a K&M tool for the flash hole and a non adjustable Sinclair tool for the primer pocket. I use a reamer that...

Good places for supper in Denver.

The Bull and Bush has decent food. I think Tuesday and Thursday nights are Prime Rib night. Its also a Brewery. Its at Cherry Creek. The Buckhorn Exchange was pretty good but very expensive. They have a lot of older guns and animal heads on the walls. It has a rustic and interesting decor. A few...

    Best Powder for 308/150GR Bullet?

There are so many good loads that its hard to pick the best. My pet load for 150s is IMR 4064. Varget, 4895, RL-15 and a ton of others work well. I used BL-C2 in my H&K.

    Wet Tumbling before Decapping

When I have brass thats too muddy/dirty to run through my press I put it in a wide mouth plastic jar with a squirt of Dawn and some water and let it soak. Everytime I walk by I'll give it a good shake. I guess it would be easier and faster to just put it in the tumbler? Maybe without pins for a...
