feel thenops pain. i have some old remington brass i am still working through. always heard bad things about the winchester and stayed away. have hornady, nosler and normas. working in normas now. dont seem as 'thick' as the rem's but time will tell how they hold up. like OP i would be all over...
agree. but i have to wonder how sales of these will compare to sales of a 1-8x with improved reticle / sales related to reticle swaps. the 1-8 is a great optic at price sans the giant damn center dot.
if your going with a larger size padded belt look at the vtac's (https://www.vikingtactics.com/product-p/vtac-bb.htm). their system of padding breaths a little better than hsgi rubber type stuff. though i did i just get in an hsgi operator belt to give a try. first impression is good build...
i had an itch earlier this year for a side by side. hadnt had one before and thought they look pretty cool. the more i looked though for me, i came back around to a new atv for now. when im back looking at SxS again, i'll be looking at a used tacoma. for the prices they want for those SxS...
was out fixing fences last weekend when a group of pigs came out behind me at about 400 yrds and i needed to oblige them. apparently pounding on t posts for two hours didnt warn them off.

figure out the custom action you think youd like, and preferred stock (traditional vs chassis etc). caliber can matter, but barrels come and go. watch the for sale section for good deals on the action / stock combo that fits your budget. you can do pretty well in their if you are patient
having to take off the cheekpiece is pretty normal. - some stockmakers will inlet a little slot in the cheekpiece to allow for clearance, but not all. and depending how high its raised that may not help
