New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Does anyone have a pic of an AT with the RRS BAI-AT2 plate installed? I just picked up an ‘17 AT and I’m considering this option but I wanted to get an idea of how it looks before ordering
Looking for a 20”, 5/8x24 threaded barrel for an AI AT:
Caliber: .308 or .260 Rem
Contour: 2018 AI contour preferred
Length: 20”
Muzzle Threads: 5/8x24 (I’d consider metric threads if the barrel is an unfired factory take-off)
Color: not hugely important
I’d prefer a unfired factory take-off...
All great points that make good sense. Ideally, what I’m looking for is a 260 round that I can bang steel with at 300 yards (staying MOA or better) and still print good groups occasionally at 100 yards.
I’m currently going through a real "love-hate" relationship with reloading, with a horrible...
Absolutely agree - this idea of doing a quick "middle of the road' hand load test was just the first idea that I had in terms of figuring out what this barrel likes since my first tests of different factory loads was so erratic. Ideally, I'd like to backtrack after that a do a real load...
Thanks - I’ll load up 10 of each (123s and 130s) with 39.5 of RL17 at 2.800” COL and see what happens in terms of group size. I definitely don’t want to hot rod the loads since my range maxes out at 300 yards and I’m just shooting steel out to that distance (so I just need a middle of the road...
I need some help finding a starting point for my new 24” 260 Remington factory AI barrel. If you read my “background info” below, I had some trouble with the barrel this weekend so I want to see if a hand load will resolve it.
My Available Components:
123 Scenars and 130 ELDMs (I’d like to try...

Update after today’s range session...
...Everything’s good with both the Sphur and Badger mounts. I mounted the scope in both the rings and back into the mount and was able to get the rifle on paper @25 yards in the rings and then again in the Sphur and then zero and confirm both configurations...
This is getting a little bit weird.
I took the scope out of the Sphur and put the scope in the same set of Badger rings that the scope was sitting in when it was attached to a different rifle.
(As a side note, these rings were on this gun (the one that I’m having the issue with) with a...
That’s the plan. I’m redoing the whole thing and taking it to the range on the weekend so I can bore sight and confirm what’s going on by putting some rounds through the gun
I’m going to start from scratch and take the scope out of the mount and go through the whole leveling /ring torquing process again as well double check that the mount isn’t going sideways when I tighten the clamping screws.
I’m also going to make my rifle rest a bit more rigid so that the gun...
I need some help with figuring out what I'm doing wrong while bore sighting my Schmidt Ultra Short after moving it from rings to a Sphur mount and to a new rifle:
The Problem:
After leveling out and securing the scope in the Sphur mount, I attached the scope to my rifle and started to bore...
I’m still waiting on an update from the builder to see if he’s made any progress diagnosing/fixing my feeding issue. I found this picture of the underside of the receiver rails in case that gives anyone any new ideas as to what may be the root cause of the issue.
