Gunsmithing Open ended request - most accurate 1000yd rifle.

Re: Blank check build - most accurate 1000yd rifle. I'd do something like the 300 Hulk, since it holds the 1000yd record already, or some version of a .300 Norma Imp. With the heavies the are close to the equal of the .338's.

Neck down .408 brass or use .375 brass for .375 .

Re: Neck down .408 brass or use .375 brass for .375 . You do the same Ron and have fun with the new toy. If I ever get my TAC338 actions from the group buy I'm going to do a .375-.338 Lapua Imp and a .500 A-square. My barrels are growing old waiting for the actions .

Neck down .408 brass or use .375 brass for .375 .

Re: Neck down .408 brass or use .375 brass for .375 . Ron, I usually buy the brass and seat bullet to figure out the reamer dimensions. I like about .003-.004" clearance and will go tighter if I want to skim cut the necks on the brass. It's also the best way to get the throat right. Nathan

Where to send two barrels for brake install?

Re: Where to send two barrels for brake install? Blued stainless comes out looking matte, almost like chromoly that has been bead blasted prior to bluing.

What magnum-boltface cartridge for long range

Re: What magnum-boltface cartridge for long range 7-300wm, 7LRM, or 7mm Dakota. I'd do one of those. I just did a 7-300wm for myself.

Gunsmithing My new build! 30-338 LM or maybe Improved?? Help!

Re: My new build! 30-338 LM or maybe Improved?? Help! The IMP. version will have less case stretch and more capacity. If 208 Amax's are the lightest bullet you want to shoot you can have it throated for that particular bullet.

Any loading data for a 6-300WSM aka 6WSM?

Re: Any loading data for a 6-300WSM aka 6WSM? I did shoot it this morning. I shot a 3 shot group with 65grs of H5010 and it was about 5/8" and 3275fps. Then I did a latter test with 60-66grs of Retumbo. 60-63grs (4 shots) went into just over 1/2" and 61-63grs went into 3/8". The velocity was...

Any loading data for a 6-300WSM aka 6WSM?

Re: Any loading data for a 6-300WSM aka 6WSM? It's a 29" long 8" twist 1.25" straight barrel with one of my 5 port muzzle brakes. So it kicks like a .22. It's also got a 1 1/2oz Jewell trigger and a Leupold VX3 LR 6.5x20x40 and a single shot Remington short action. I loaded 105 Amax's in it...

Any loading data for a 6-300WSM aka 6WSM?

I was bored and had a reamer from years ago so I built one this weekend. I barely got to shoot it before dark last night to get it on paper at 25yds. I loaded 60 to 64grs of H5010 in 1 grain increments and then loaded 5 at 65 and 5 at 66grs. The first shot was 60grs and it was pretty mild so I...

I think my Edge is getting there

I built this rifle a couple months ago and only had 9 rounds through it prior to this morning breaking it in. It's been so hot for the last month or so I hadn't shot it for over a month. Breaking it in I shot 88 and 89grs of H-1000 with a 300gr SMK and wasn't overly impressed with the accuracy...
