New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I worked with one of Larry's pards when I was in Alaska. They definitely lack social skills....but they can shoot. Pretty sure scoring chicks is lower priority than gram pics with fish and spray painted guns.
I have a ram 5500 4x4, 2500 4x4 and a powerstroke excursion. I have a 6.7 ford at work.
I don't like aluminum bodies and the awful turn radius of the ford. The 5500 4x4 is the obvious king of towing and stopping big loads. My best scale so far has been 38k and it was no issue.
The 7.3...
Absolutely it matters.
The depth of your action needs to be known to match to tenon. You could end up with a bolt that won't close....or worse yet, an unsupported chamber.
My daughter got burned on a deal. I used my channels and tracked the perp down by calling his family and explaining that I want my daughter's money back or I will be pressing charges.
My guy was the son of a US district attorney and it got pretty sporty until junior (27 y/o basement dweller)...
With 15 firings being the beginning of your clicks, did you ever section a case and see if brass flow is an issue?
If it's not a carbon ring....this is where I would look next.
I've hit similar messes with a surface grinder then skimmed the length to match. You end up with the portion behind the serrations 90* to the slide grind....but it can look good....and it can always be dusted in glass to blend.
If you dig around you'll find Les Brooks documenting building a rifle on a 7x12" lathe on the tail gate of his pickup while living in a motor home. He was an instructor at Trinidad state and quite talented. He did some impressive stuff with very little.
A viper style action jig would hold a short barrel if you're not greedy with the feeds.
I'd skip measuring off of stuff unless the stuff is the barrel. Grab a long reach stylus and rock on.
Looks like the scope base screws were still in the action or they were installed on top of glass bead and pushed into the threads....that's my guess on the shanked shank.
We wouldn't need narcan if they'd just let us buy drug dealer tags. I'd have a tree stand over a pile of bike frames and be curing America of it's dilemma.
While not as old as most here, this is my 100k serial tc hawken with target sights I installed. I built this wedge for quick elevation stops and it works like magic. I scribe the wedge once I validate the load and range. I am very repeatable at 300yards and before long should be solid into the...
Once you've dialed a few to the tenths....you can appreciate the effort required. I'm curious how many cnc shops just touch off and let it eat without a fixture like the tbas.
