I'm guessing the Indian's asked the NTSB to take the lead. Boeing is a party to the investigation. Boeing cant say shit as a party to the investigation lest they be kicked off the investigation... So you wont hear a peep from Boeing on this...- rjacobs

no clue... as you know in the airline industry you never get the whole story. you just get a reminder to "adhere to policy/procedure" and then a blurb of what said policy/procedure is. I have questioned our procedures team on this and received a grand total of nothing back.- rjacobs

I dont THINK they can do that in Texas... As far as I know almost all City's, if they have a felony case it automatically goes to the County and the county tries it. IF the County grand jury is who brought the indictment it will stay and be tried in Collin County. My county on the south side...- rjacobs

They got a Murder 1 charge on the indictment, not an aggravated/capital murder charge so the death penalty is likely off the table. I dont think this case complies with state law on aggravated/capital murder. Texas has pretty clear cut "aggravated/capital murder" language and I dont think this...- rjacobs

We had a couple airplanes almost not clear the fence at a certain well known short runway airport. They never got to commanded/requested takeoff thrust. It wasnt a systems issue(the airplane data was correct), it was a dumb chimp at the controls issue combined with our dumb ass auto-throttle...- rjacobs

There is, but I dont know how the 787 electrical system works... I know its a full electric airplane with no bleed air so the electrical system is pretty stout I would think. When I flew the 747 there was no checklist for loss of all A/C power i.e. losing all 4 generators at the same time...- rjacobs

The 787 fuel system is pretty much the same as the 737. Center pumps are "over ride" pumps and wings are "boost" pumps. The over ride pumps are higher pressure and "over ride" the wing tank boost pumps... You would take off with all 6 pumps on, which is what we do in the 737. IF you had a...- rjacobs

I can see the leading edge out in the original video, but I dont see any trailing edge. I would guess flaps 15-20 is a more normal setting for that airplane on takeoff and not 1. I would HIGHLY DOUBT that flaps 1 is a normal takeoff flap setting for that airplane. I dont know how much gas it...- rjacobs
