    Tikka T3 Thread

I finally got the new Proof barrel on and took the Tikka to the range to break the barrel in, I got some interesting results that I will share in another post. When swapping barrels out I can't stress the importance of using a good torque limiting wrench like the ETork, or Summit Tools 3/8 or...

Rifle Scopes Vortex RG3 6-36x56, Element Theos 6-36x56 and Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 Review

The other thing I remember was when focused at high to mid power, then either zooming up or down required a re-focus. So a focus at one power did not focus at all of the other powers, if you changed magnification you were forced to re-focus. As I got one of the first production 6-36's I wonder...

Rifle Scopes Vortex RG3 6-36x56, Element Theos 6-36x56 and Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 Review

I owned a first run production of the Zeiss 6-36 but couldn't get past the red tinge I would see when looking through at higher mag, I wonder if they have fixed that in the past few years? Otherwise a nice optic for all the reasons mentioned.

The Tikka barrel has a more extreme angle by the action due to the profile, so I try to grab an area that has the most grip and fits the barrel vise the best. You want as much surface area to grab as possible.

I have a Proof carbon 24" in 6.5 coming in the mail. Don't get me wrong, the Tikka barrels are about the best out of the box for many reasons however they are a little slow, the Proof will be a little faster, and it will lighten things up a tad.

I took off another Tikka barrel from a Tac A1 action. Minimal fuss, the key is prep work, patients, and torque. 1. Prep work: Once action and barrel are removed from the chassis hit the barrel joint inside the action and the outside of the action with penetrating oil like Kroil or WD40. Have...

    Tikka T3 Barrel / Yuck

Never look down your barrel. Seriously I have had barrels that had fire cracking, filiform erosion, rust, etc...etc.. And many of those barrels have shot great and no different then when new. Unless you're Frank Green just don't do it.

Picked up one of those from you guys a few years back. It's been flawless. To me probably the best tactical optic Leupold has put out.

Anyone recognize this logo??? The DT hard cases were just a little too spency for me so I had to get creative. Holds all three of my barrels.

This ^^^^ Yes 308 might be more ubiquitous in general but not the precision ammo, where most of the 6.5 stuff out there is either precision or hunting ammo. 6.5 was developed as a long range precision cartridge, 308 was first developed as a battle rifle and general use cartridge. But you can't...
