The tough part with the 30cal is spotting impacts due to the lighter smaller bullet. Beyond that 1600yd with any mirage it gets rough. Add in some green and or not desert sand it become real tough. Stick to lead core bullets as they show a better splash on target. We have been playing around...

Any users of FFS still out there?

Why no talk about it? Cause it just works! My Trimble is solid as a brick and the battery life is rediculisy long. The unit pairs with my Vector, grabs data from the kestrel for weather, and gives me spot on dope. All on a system built in the mid 90's.. Amazing the new stuff is still trying to...

    50BMG

The Lee will get you where you need to go. I've used mine for the last 10 years with no issue. Are there better? Yes, search: Alberta Tacticle accu-max for a bad ass single stage press. I've made a lot of tools and dies to make my lee better, but that's in dies and seating equient, not the...

    50BMG

How about the 416Garrett. The pic shows a 50 with my 850+ Gr. Solid next to my 416Garrett and a 422gr solid. That 416 sends those solids at 3550fps all day long with no pressure and low spreads. Way awesome to run.

Gunsmithing Sako TRG Scope Mount Threading

M3.5x0.6mm screws are hard to find, until I was digging through my box of lathe insert screws and found the correct one.. you can buy them from Shars tooling for relatively cheap, availability is good and they come in a torx head. Using a drill press for holding a screw driver bit square to the...

Exactly! Today's numbers were stupid impressive. I think i'm narrowing down my spreads. Tonight I just fixed the finish on the insides of my necks. After all the work to make the cases the final finish wasn't as smooth as I'd like it. You could notice the variation during bullet seating, I think...

Lol, this whole project was designed and built because Eduardo turned the screws to the weight limit. I had some idea of how fast it was going to go but didn't expect to see the results I'm seeing. I'll be testing today, hopefully the results are what I want to see. More later.

    Tripod Head for Spotter

Manfroto gear head is the single best upgrade I've made for my spotting scope. Worth it.

    Safran/ Vectronix Terrapin-X *** Update***

No it's not.. vectronix is owned by Safran.. they build everything from cheap lasers to jet engines. Where's the money at? Businesses cutting P.O's, not consumers. My vector IV is from 1994, still works like a champ. Why? Government project. Good luck finding a manual for a Rockwell viper...

Hope the tax man saved you some vasilene.. Jason and I went to the range today, perfect weather. I'm a huge fan of my new tripod and gear head, I can see 6.5 holes on paper at 620yds clear as day and spotting really is a treat with the Swaro. Finally burned all the random loads through my...

    Reflective Target Material

https://www.amazon.com/Dot-c2-Reflective-Conspicuity-Safety-Trailer/dp/B008BVZG6S A little square of DOT C2 reflective tape on a target will make your life easy and simple. Put it on a leg of a target stand if you are worried about impacts.

    375 SnipeTac or Cheytac?

I agree with that! The other weekend we were running 400gr lazers at 3025fps, H50bmg comfortably and never had a hang fire or any other issue. Standard Cheytac chamber. Amazing what myths and rumors come from the internet..

    Minox 20-60x80 MD 80 Z?? Anybody use

Thanks, the Swaro is a pleasure to use. The PIG is tight as hell. The height it's at in the pic will support my weight (210lbs), I'm sure it voids warranty but what the hell someone had to try it. Beyond that I took it out in the field yesterday, impressive forsure. I've never been able to use...

    URSA Event Recaps for March 2018 + 3K Update + Q2 Schedule

I like the idea of the TI firing pin guide rod, when I find time I'll have to turn one out. Making the bolt a 2 piece is a great idea too, too many parts flopping around otherwise. You are not the only one seeing the off-center bore of the Armalite brake, I run a K&P brake on mine, that solved...

For you guys that have them. Can you put the plugs in and put a set of muffs over and let me know if you can hear conversation from about the distance of a spotter? I wear pluggs and muffs when shooting the 50 and half the problem is myself and the spotter are yelling at each other. Sometime...
