    Tikka T3 Picture Thread.

Its not uncommon to see the alurecoillug battered, and as the recoillug is extremely simple, i cannot see any reason to not change it

Torf I do understand the idea behind a side mag but the gun will get clumsy as i see it, so i probably pass on that one

Mkollman I cannot see any reason for changing the rail. I make over 60 models Of talical mounts and in 34mm alone we make 0,20,30,40,45 moa mounts, we will soon start making 10 and 62 moa mounts to. So in My opinion integral rail is one thing less that can cause problems

Semihardened Uddeholm Impax, it's a 4140 with tighter tolerances. Its ok if I have to recut the thread and cylindrical surface as no barrels are ready. So i just check straightness when magcut and ejection port and rest of The outside is done.

6 lugs I have also heard rumours around rear locking lugs but as I like the idea it feels like a good solution to try it:)

Steyr SSG69, Remington 788, Schultz o Larsen DL65 and DL68, Lee-Enfield, Sauer (colt) modell 90. Nope front and rear locking lugs removes all smart things by using rear locking lugs as that will force me to extend the bolt travel with about 2/3" and make feeding of difficult rounds impossible.

I had the intention to assemble a new rifle but due to various reasons i did not get the Surgeon action I planned to base it on. So decision was made to make My own. Features i wanna try! 1. Integral picrail (possible 17mm Tikka/TRG rail instead) 2. Rear locking lugs to make a shorter bolt...

    Rifle Scopes Scopes Slipping

Lawn If you look closely on many picrails they are not true. And even if they are, when they are attached to the Handgrinded Remington action they become bent. Take any set of you'r favourite rings and mount it to a rail and just mark over with a lapping bar and you will find out that the...

    Rifle Scopes Scopes Slipping

I don't agree at all with lapping. The quality of the rings says NOTHING if lapping is needed or not, but the picatinny rail does. If the rail not is straight (and mostly are not) then the rings needs to be lapped. The recoil of the meantioned calibers are pretty tough, and I strongly recomend...
