    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Them ain't coonasses, them trailer trash. Crestview was only some better. Of course that was the late 80's.

Filling a case with powder using a long copper tube

I built a stand out of some nice oak to hold my 30" drop tube. Mine is used for black powder only. With a nice slow and consistent pour, I put 80 grains of 1.5F in a fireformed Starline 45/70 case. If I were to try that with a 6" drop tube/funnel, about 5 grains would stay in the funnel and dump...

    Ultrasonic solution for brass

Lemishine added to the mix tends to remove more of the darker streaks from the brass for me. I rarely use ultra sonic anymore though.

    berger 73gr handloads (5.56)

Glad that it was a help. In that range (powder charge) I have always had good results.

    berger 73gr handloads (5.56)

223 has always been a PITA for me to get low consistent sd's. My 6.5 Grendel's and a 6 mm ARC give me single digit sd's whether ball or extruded powders. Case shape and size is obviously part of the equation for low ES and sd's. It gives me a headache thinking about it....

    berger 73gr handloads (5.56)

I suspect Varget and the Berger 73 will shoot at least good. I will usually seat them max magazine length. Tuning seating depth may improve it even more but I called it good.

    berger 73gr handloads (5.56)

I shot it out of multiple AR's from 10.5" to 20" and haven't chronographed it. Before I got the Garmin I used an Oehler and it was a PITA so I was lazy. I do know the Varget or the 8208 load was very pretty on target. I still keep enough of the 73's around for checking accuracy in AR's as I can...

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

I was just stirring the pot and will find a road bike meme soon. Oh crap, I accidentally reposted it.

Weird marks on spent 5.56 casings

Glad it is going to work out for you. You needed the borescope anyway. I like to use mine to freak myself out looking down the barrel (just joking)....

    Shooting 6mm ARC through a 6.5mm or 6mm Suppressor?

Oh yeah! Another "I want this specific item and don't want to hear anything otherwise, what do y'all think".

    Shooting 6mm ARC through a 6.5mm or 6mm Suppressor?

Sequential suppressors is what you are refering to. Question I have is do you attach more barrel to the front of the first smaller suppressor or just use a larger than bore diameter tube between the suppressors? I believe the first suppressor will have to be small and gassy to help spool up...

    The point of a Craddock 7.5 - 8" 223 Wylde barrel?

I do NOT agree. I have found a a very stiff, fat, and well finished 5 1/3" incher (rounded up) will not show deflection regardless of heat. Wait, what the hell was the question???

    6.5 Grendel

To pretty much quote LRRPF52, chunk that Oring and just use the extractor spring and little beer can inside of it. It is one of the first things I do when I get a new bolt. It seems to me the edges of all extractors are made as brass skiving knives. They do what they do if you don't work on them...

    The point of a Craddock 7.5 - 8" 223 Wylde barrel?

I wonder how a gas tube attached to a DT suppressor would work. Before someone says it's a stupid idea, consider no drilled hole in the barrel and no need to take pictures and bitch about burrs and asking "do I need to send it back". It would get boring around here... Damn, did I just come up a...

    The point of a Craddock 7.5 - 8" 223 Wylde barrel?

Are you running a RLGS on your 13.7"? 🤣🤣🤣 Just joking. I also prefer long gas tubes but I'm making up for "other" things.

    Shooting 6mm ARC through a 6.5mm or 6mm Suppressor?

Well said! No doubt about the fan boy attitude too. I'm a fan boy of OCL, Diligent Defense, my Nomad 30, and eventually a lot more brands. Who knows, a KGM can may eventually make me spend another $200 and wait a while. I'm probaboy just a suppressor slut and don't realize it. When I first read...

    Shooting 6mm ARC through a 6.5mm or 6mm Suppressor?

I do not have a KGM can so my experience for this topic is limited (since the OP is being specific on brands). I haven't noticed my Polonium being quieter than my Nomad 30 on my one 6mm ARC being shot back to back. My shooting buddy said the tone is different and both are quiet (scientific it is...

XBR8208 Pressure spike too fast for setup?

I personally would stop at 23.7 and that would be the 5 I loaded "just in case everything looks great and I just had to know" kinda thing. You can pull 5 easily enough. 23.5 will probably give you all the velocity you are looking for with this load IMO. If you want screaming velocity (which...
