How often should I change my tumbler media?

Chunk out the Brass-O. Contains ammonia and not really suited for tumbling media. Either get a dedicated polish such as Frankford Arsenal, RCBS, etc, or use some Nu Finish car polish (Walmart). It won't harm the brass and it does make your media work much faster with a more satisfactory result...

20" 5R and 168 Hybrids...... Anyone running this pill?

My 308 (Gradous built Surgeon, Krieger 1-10 @ 24" truck axle, Jewell, McM A5, Badger M4) does like the 168 Hybrid, but not jumping. Thought for a while that I had purchased some very expensive fouling bullets. I jammed them .015", and something magical happened. The load is 43 grs H4895, Lapua...

Gunsmithing School me on the Rem Model 7 action?

I just got one back from the "Smith". It was built for my daughter to hunt and target shoot with. 6.5×47L Bartlien VS @ 26" Manners T3 Timney Calvin trigger Original BM EGW HD 0 moa mount Custom bolt knob It only has 100 rounds through it, but I suspect it is gonna be a hammer...

    6.5mm Creedmoor vs 6.5mmx47 vs .260 Rem

Not a problem to me, and you were/are not wasting band width. Nevertheless, there are a lot of this same type of question already discussed and the pro's and con's are out there. The three SA cartridges asked about are arguably the three most popular cartridges at this time and any precision...

    6.5mm Creedmoor vs 6.5mmx47 vs .260 Rem

You asked the same question on Accurate Shooter. I saw there where you decided on the 7mm RM in another post "after a huge amount of deliberation". Of course, you can ask the same questions as many times as you like and wherever you like, but you are all over the place with cartridge/action...

Starting with a (almost) blank slate

No. Scope covers may not fit without some redneck ingenuity, but I prefer mine to be as low as possible on hunting or casual target rifles. YMMV.....

    Berger 140 VLD Hunting

My family has 2 Creedmoor's and they both shoot these (and the 130 VLD) very very good. 1 will only shoot them jamming and the other will shoot them either way. Plus, I run them somewhat hotter than what is being suggested with H4350 (I was looking for a certain velocity and am not seeing any...

    Lemishine

Indeed. A squirt of dawn dishwashing liquid, about a healthy teaspoon of lemishine, and give it a stir. My US cleaner is a carbon copy of the Hornady small US cleaner except mine is white in color and I got it off of fleabay. I've had it for about 4 years and it is still working well. I do not...

Should I change my current 6.5cm to 308?

Not true! I have shot my 308 since I got started with the Creedmoor's. About 100 rounds in 2 years that is:)! You have been given very good advice. I have had each of the listed calibers and will go to a 6.5 almost everytime. I would keep the 308 and for sure get the Creedmoor built...

making 6.5 creedmoor brass from .308 brass

I have sized down 50 Laupa Palma that needed to be neck turned. I turned them only enough to give me .0015" clearance. Not much, but these will not be used for anything but targets. Sized down with a Redding 6.5 Creedmoor S FL die with no bushing. I go slow and cam over turn 180 degrees and...

    6.5 Creedmoor rl17 140 AMAX Loads

Kind of apples and oranges here, but I have tried Re17 with 130 VLD's. Saw great velocity but accuracy was not as good as with H4350. FWIW, my best accuracy load with Re17 was 43 grains, Wolf LRM, Hornady brass, 130 VLD jammed .010", 2950ish fps. My rifle does not shoot the VLD's great unless...

6.5x51 LPR any one heard of this

It is understandable to try to do something just a little bit different, but the rifle you describe sounds pretty damn good to me. Just get a hundred pieces of Lapua brass, load it to 260 Rem pressures, and that brass should last you a very long time. Or load it to almost 6.5x284 speeds and the...

Load 175 SMK from 2.800 to 2.820, dangerous?

There's some good advice about getting a comparator set up. You will use it a lot. Also get the headspace gauge kit while you are at it. It will probably set you back $50-60, but it is money well spent. You will KNOW if you are jamming or not. You will also KNOW where to set up your sizing die...

6.5 grendel varget compressed load concerns

I've been shooting a Grendel for about 3 years now. Let's see, Lapua/AA brass only, 205 205m 450 Wolf SRM primers, 2520 xmr8208 Leverevolution (or however you spell it) Re15, too many types of bullets to list. I have a few go to bullets however. Try 120 smks and 123 amaxes. They don't cost what...

    Tula SR Primers?

Re: Tula SR Primers? Never used the "Tula", but have used a bunch of Wolf and PMC branded primers. They, by all accounts, are the same. They are all good in my rifles. The only issue I have noticed was with Wolf SRM's in 308 with Rem URBR brass (this is a SR 308 brass). I had more than a few...

How many use CCI 450 mag primers w/ .223 varget?

Re: How many use CCI 450 mag primers w/ .223 varget? If I had to pick just one SR primer, the 450 would be it. I use them in 223, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5 Creedmoor (Rem URBR brass), and 308 (Lapua Palma and Rem URBR). My shooting partner uses them in 223, 6MM BR, and 6.5x47. Never backed down on...

Exceed published data or not? 308 benchmark 168gr

Re: Exceed published data or not? 308 benchmark 168gr It's quite possible that accuracy will improve, then fall off at a certain pressure level. Many people will have different experiences, but with tried and true loads (Varget with 175 SMK, H4895 with 175 SMK, etc) most will have similar...
