New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I think I need some new glass on my 7 PRC. Right now I’ve got a Swarvoski Z5 5-25. I just don’t like it. There’s something about it. I am considering one of the Mark 4 or 5 Leupold in 25x or 35x or so. Anybody running one of these high-end Leupold scopes for long range?
What kind and how much powder were you running? I can’t find any reloading data for them. I did load some 140 SBT’s with H1000 this afternoon. I’ll try tomorrow. I just love that 130 HPBT #1728 those things are wicked in the 7 mm and 30 cal.
All i have is 3 lbs of 7977 and 3 of 8133 I hate to start something and run out. H1000 is everywhere here so I started with a pound of that and an assortment of 160ish bullets. all my little guns shoot RL16 and H4350. Wished the 7PRC did I got tons of that. maybe I could swap my 7977 and 8133...
That’s what I drug home from the store yesterday that shot that factory ammo so good. I don’t even have the barrel broken yet. It’s already throwing .3 MOA groups at 200. I’d like to say it was my handloads, but it wasn’t it was factory ammo how embarrassing. Verdict is still out on that stock...
I started one yesterday about a new 7mm prc I bought and posted pics of targets just horsing around today. ZERO reply's LOL oh well not going to loose any sleep over it
All I can say is I’d rather be lucky than good any day. That’s an over-the-counter rifle that hasn’t even had barrel break-in done on a windy ass West Texas range with blowing sand shooting factory ammo. I believe I’ll stop at the gas station and buy a lotto ticket on the way home.
PS all these...
Another 200 yd group with Hornady outfitter 7 mm PRC 160 grain CX $60 box. I hate buying over-the-counter ammunition, but if it’s gonna shoot like that, I believe I’ll go buy a couple boxes. Save my ratty ass reloads(3holes to left same target) for horsing around.
The only one I found was a bunch of guys cussing and discussion the seven PRC and how the 6.5 necked up to 7 mm is better or a 300 PRC neck down to 7 mm is better blah blah. Not yet talk about some wildcats that are copycats or some such. I’ll get to stumble across very many loads in that 15...
Man, it’s hard to believe nobody replied to that. I’m in the same boat. I just purchased a brand new one today and kind of curious as to what the normal is on bullet weight and powder.
With powder being $60+ a pound Whats a good powder and load for the 7mm PRC with a 175 ELDX or 180 Berger? I have on hand some 7977, 8133, RL22 ,RL23. All apparently all unicorn dust now a days. I do not have any H1000
I am thinking hard about getting into the 6.5 PRC game. I too am wondering about H4350 and RL16 as I have a LOT of it. I only have 3 lbs or 7977 and 3 of 8133. Id hate to work up a load with it and then run out.
That is close to what I did several guns ago. I get tired of messing or looking at a gun and get another. MOST of the time the new gun will shoot close to what the last one shot well. almost everything I shoot likes H4350 or RL16. I have a lot of both so I don't stray too far from them. I am 20...
I knew exactly what you meant (.130). Case capacity is not an issue it just looked funny to me seated that deep. I am 20 bullets into this. I don't think 20 bullets is wasting bullets. Less than 1/4 of a box! I am not loading a barrel burner either. Barrel life on a hunting rifle is not an issue...
