    I've killed elk with lightweight Barnes bullets in the 308. I make low recoil stuff for my kids in 308. It will do just fine for you. That being said, I'd have done the 708 because I've just had a thing for the 7mm bore lately.

    Nosler 6mm 70 gr BT bullet in a .243 for 'yotes? The Nosler 55 will go 4k.... And strangely it has a higher bc than the 22 cal 55gr bullet.

    If you're considering Tikka, look at the Winchester Extreme Weather in tons of calibers. I'd do 7mm or 300 mag.

    I've seen an elk taken at 700 yards with a 243. Bell took piles of elephants with a 6.5. Neither a 6.5 nor a 243 would be my first choice though. I wonder what the OP is thinking....

    The change in POI is not due to barrel harmonics but due to pressure wave reflections off of the bayonet. This issue could also influence OCW/group size. This phenomenon still exists with a bench mounted sensor.
