    Yes, my packs are external frames and have a collapsible meat shelf, that sits in between the frame and bag. When coming out heavy it’s Beverly hillbillies looking for sure. It’s well thought out but when making one trip off the mountain it can only be so organized/tidy.

    We don’t have hardwood up here. Once a fire goes to coal, they throw chunks and they smolder giving the smoke. Lots of people use it, just not me.

    Same tree, it smokes well and is used on salmon. I don’t use it, if I use Alaska wood it’s alder. I either use a Bradley or Treager.
