New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Not sure yet as I haven't put it on since I'm still waiting for the custom striker springs to come in. Once I get them in, I'll install it ASAP and will post pics to show the clearance.
I use a 1/4" wide gouge (wood workers/stock makers tool) to remove material from all the areas to be bedded. Only do this after you pillar bed the stock first.
I use either a 9/16" forstner bit or 9/16" piloted counterbore. I've done so many 455 stocks now I no longer need to use a piloted counterbore. I can use a forstner bit with ease and drill it dead on every time :).
That factory pillar shouldn't even be installed IMO!
The stock and trigger on the cz can be changed to almost anyone's liking. The safety I can't argue that one :(. The mags I never use as I use single shot adapters personally.
The 504's can be decent shooters with a lilja but the cz 455 and quad are better IMO. The failure to extract certain ammo is the cost of having a match chamber. Those eps match chambers are short and tight!
Been doing ALOT of 455 stocks lately (from here and other forums) but this is my first manners! This is a forum members stock but ill leave it to him if he wants to come forward. The factory front pillar in the manners stock is pure garbage if you ask me! The outside diameter is .372"...
I have a US manufacture making them for me in a large quanity. The power of the springs is increased but I won't say by how much due to the trial, error, and money that went into it (no ones ripping off my idea lol). I had test springs made from 5% to as high as 20% more than the factory springs...
The compound I use is made by porter cable and is the green colored one. I polish both sides of the flats. Before adding the compound to the wheel run the wheel at high speed with no compound and hit the metal for a few seconds with it. This will heat it up so when you touch the wheel to the...
Today I put the aluminum magazine well on and put the trigger/sear back on the action. Action had some clay stuck on it in spots but my handy 32 oz spray bottle with hoppes #9 got it all off :). That's about all I could do today since I'm now at the mercy of waiting on the rest of the parts to...
