Happy Independence Day to our Polish friends

Poland and Hungary are to be admired. Don’t think it’s any accident that Trump skipped the big EU countries early in his administration, and paid Poland a state visit first.

The Sting Operation Will Put The Whole Democrats’ Ballot Fraud To An End

First, Snopes in no position to confirm or deny anything. They have no DHS clearances. They do internet searches like you and me, make judgment calls, and are prone to the same biases as everyone else. Now onto Dr. Pieczenik. This is no internet jockey...

    Buy Once Cry Once...help

Another option, in the “grow into the sport” philosophy of Greg Langelius is the Tikka CTR. It’s nice because it’s a 1 MOA rifle out of the box, is significantly less expensive than the Tac A1, and can grow (upgrade) with you as time goes on.

Rifle Scopes Scope rings differences in price but is there a difference?

Lots of good advice here, Machine. This is primarily a precision rifle board, so folks here will generally assume "new" means "new to precision rifle." Precision rifle equipment can either be an expensive game, or a game of weighing cost efficient-quality at a budget you can justify. I play...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I got mine on a hope and a prayer too. I’m 6’ 1”. Fits great. Personal quirk, I don’t like the feel of metal chassis systems and was a little concerned the Ranger would feel skeletal with all the cut-outs. But I don’t even notice them. As mentioned there are so many great stock options out...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I have a GGS Ranger. Love it. Was torn between the Predator and the Ranger but decided to go light (about 1 lb heavier than factory CTR stock.) There are great stock options out there these days. I chose GGS for its drop-in-and-done design specific to Tikka T3x or T1x. No tweaking. No...

Echoes of Bismarck there. “The great questions of the day will not be settled by speeches and majority decisions but by iron and blood.”

Those videos are nice to dip and sample. But the online training here can take you step by step. There are many lessons, but they don’t meander. They take you in logical progression.

Scope rings--When is "good enough" good enough?

Question on scope ring quality. I've always gravitated toward the more respected brands, just because I wanted to cover all my bases, without really understanding the why (and never had a ring issue). Curious though what sets "good" scope rings apart...

Atlas, Harris, or Magpul bipod for spr rifles

Wow! Learn something every day. It’s not as easy as they make it seem in the video. But I just lock the pan and leave it. Works better for me, and makes the swivel less floppy. Works great now!

Atlas, Harris, or Magpul bipod for spr rifles

Agree with Secant's assessment of the Magpul. I've had mine a few months so far. For $100, it's quite a "feature-rich" little package. It's very simple and smooth to operate, loads nicely, has slightly more grippy feet than the Harris, and just works. It has a few out-of-the-box mounting...

    Dry fire??

I started using A-zooms, because Tikka said I should use snap caps.. Can’t tell if they’re painted steel or aluminum, but those caps sure do make a noticeable scraping sound when cycled. Tend to think that's worse than firing pin wear, if any.

That sounds about right. Can't recall if I ever did that. Was just starting out, and probably didn't. I'll have a chance to check that tomorrow!

both eyes open and eye relief

I've heard for a long time that you should keep both eyes open when looking through a scope, but whenever I tried it, I'd get double vision, and it was really hard to make sense of what I was looking at through the scope. I figured I was cross dominant, and spent the rest of my years shooting...

    Rifle Scopes 10x riflescope poll...

This thread seems to be running up against conflicting tensions of cost vs. features vs. what is available today. What you originally described is a want for modern/premium features on a fixed 10x listing for $1000. Whether SWFA is the final manufacturer of proposed scope, it draws the natural...
