Rifle Scopes What is your favorite rifle scope?

I'm torn on this one. I love my Tangent Theta TT525P but I prefer the parallax knob on the Schmidt & Bender PMii 5-25. I also love the MTC on the S&B. You don't have to lift your head off the scope to dial. I'd buy either scope again in a heartbeat.

    Primer blowout

I have about 4,000 CCI 400’s And I’m down to my last 2,000 BR-4’s I tried using the 400’s in my 6.5 Creedmoor low node load that is 2650fps and my 6BR with Hornady 75gr V-Max at 3,200 and both popped primers where where the BR-4’s never did. I never popped a primer with CCI 400’s in 5.56

    good bi-pod ?

You hit the nail in the head with the Atlas. It doesn’t lock out completely. This is why mine now sits on my 338 Lapua. It gets shot maybe 6-7 times a year. My Accu-tacs and my Harris get shot every week.

    good bi-pod ?

I have one on a 300 RUM. It’s been on it for about 10 years now. I’m pushing a 200gr Accubond just a hair under 3000fps.

    good bi-pod ?

Harris S-BRM with a pod lock lever is the bare minimum for me. It will last you a lifetime and it’s only $120.00 or so. Black Friday is coming maybe you can find a deal. Notched legs for no slippage, adjustable cant that can be locked out. I use them wherever I don’t want to spend the money to...

Vortex RazorHD Gen III 6-36x56 vs NF ATACR 7-35x56

I think that it took a while for people to get the courage to spend top dollar with a company that you’re not sure will be around tomorrow. I know it took me a while and I’m Canadian. As for why some people go for the Vortex over the Nightforce. Last year my shooting partner purchased a Gen 3...

How much and how long does it take for a gun smith to chamber a custom barrel for an action?

It's a contractor that I do business with on a regular basis. I'm a mechanical contractor.

How much and how long does it take for a gun smith to chamber a custom barrel for an action?

I'd love to order a couple of barrels if the wait was only 2 months but I'm having my roof redone in 2 weeks. 23K is the starting price plus any surprises they find. I have a feeling that there will be a couple of surprises.

How much and how long does it take for a gun smith to chamber a custom barrel for an action?

I don’t know if you know something I don’t but IBI on their page states 16-18 weeks for a barrel nut style barrel.

    Hornady Comparator Readings

Remove ejector from bolt. Take 3 fired cases that you don't mind scraping. Place red loctite inside neck of case and place the bullet loaded long in the case. Place case in chamber and close action. Wait 30 secnds and open action. Repeat 3 times.

    Bullet feeder for 6.5 creedmoor?

If you are into 3d printing you can print one and for less than $100 in parts be up and running. My whole cost including the printer was less than $500 Canadian. It costs a couple of dollars to print a conversion to a different caliber. Here is the link to the thread on the Cast Boolits forum...

Hornady is making knockoff/clone bullets (Aeromatch)

Add a zero to both income and housing prices and the relationship is the same. The difference in the 70’s was that most households had only 1 car, a tv with an antenna or maybe cable and a land line. Now everyone has 2 cars a boat and or SxS, a cell phone for each member of the family and even...

Hornady is making knockoff/clone bullets (Aeromatch)

But the average income in 1975 was $7,650 or about $150 a week before taxes.

Hornady is making knockoff/clone bullets (Aeromatch)

You are forgetting that interest rates in the 70’s were between 7-13%. In 1981 it was 18% Back to the subject at hand. I have around 1500 Hornady .308 178 BTHP bullets that shoot horribly. The Aeromatch are going to be sold only in boxes of 500 or cases of 3,000. Will I take a chance that...

Lapua finally trying to fix the dented neck problem

The bigger disappointment for me is that the new boxes contain exactly 100 pieces of brass while the plastic boxes contained 101 pieces every single time. That additional piece was great if you need a sacrificial piece for annealer setup or if you have a brain fart and destroy a case somehow...

    Inconsistent POI.

You can try loosening the action screws and while holding the rifle with the barrel pointing up tap the butt of the rifle on the ground then tighten the action screws with the rifle still in a vertical orientation.

    Inconsistent POI.

Try different ammo as mentioned above. l took my competition rifle with me to Tennessee last summer and shot at Dead Zero Shooting Park. It was grouping sub 1/2 minute with my hand loads. I ran out of my hand loads and bought 2 boxes of FGMM and it was grouping between 1 -1.75 moa. Switched...
