New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I have an old box which is probably 10 years old that is 1.203-1.215
Don’t know if you can decipher the lot number or date of mfg.
I just happened to crack it open yesterday.
Others on this forum have found the same length as me...
Whatever the amount of ammo you think you will shoot, double it.
I ended up shooting 140 rounds that day.
I'm already planning on going back this summer.
By the way you describe it, it is not a sow’s ear.
It is a silk purse that simply doesn’t match the outfit you want to wear.
If it were me I’d keep the rifle for its intended purpose and buy or build something for PRS.
This is my Gen 2 LSS-XL I ordered the longest MDT ARCA rail on information given to me.
It did not fit on the rifle and I had to file off the front most indexing bump on the rail I touched it up with Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black.
It’s hidden under the chassis and can’t be seen.

For those recommending barrels from the USA.
OP is in Canada as am I.
It will end up costing him an additional $250- $400 and add 2 months or more to privately import a barrel due to ITAR regulations.
I have 3 IBI’s and no complaints
Other Canadian options are KS Arms which supplies the...
The fore end on the LSS chassis is fairly twisty.
Installing an ARCA rail would help the rigidity.
I’m a huge MDT guy but I think that the best chassis on a budget is the KRG Bravo.
First of all has anyone confirmed that the base and rings are properly torqued?
Has a tall target test and a box test been performed ?
It doesn't matter if it's a $200 or $2,000 scope. If it isn't installed correctly anything can happen.
It could have also had internal damage happen in shipping...
Absolutely should work.
Like I mentioned earlier my first day of load development with the 6.5 creedmoor was 0F or -18C
This was the initial development target.
With a data point of 1 I'm very happy with my Triggertech Diamond 2 stage.
I have 10oz first stage with a total weight of 14.7oz.
It is mounted on an Ultimatum Precision Deadline Gen 2 action.
The 450 is CCI's Small Rifle Magnum primer.
Some people use Magnum primers in 6.5 Creedmoor while other like myself don't.
The Federal Gold Medal 205M is a match primer but not a magnum.
It is Federal's version of CCI's BR-4 The BR stands for benchrest.
Federal has softer primer cups than CCI so...
Just as an FYI
I have shot over 3,000 rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor with SRP lapua brass with 1.5mm flash holes, BR-4 primers and 140 and 147 ELD-M anywhere from 38gr-42gr of H4350 from -10F to 110F.
Never once have I had a delayed fire or misfire.
I think that’s a good call.
If you want to think outside the box go with a 6BR.
Zero recoil, tiny groups.
MDT makes AICS pattern mags for it.
Edit: I obviously missed your post above this one.
I hand load all my own ammo too.
As I mentioned earlier I took my rifle to a competition this summer and after the competition I went on vacation to Nashville.
Dead Zero Shooting Park is in Spencer TN about 2 hours from Nashville so I made a detour.
World class facility with electronic targets...
6.5 Creedmoor. As Rob01 states you can find 6.5 Creedmoor ammo if you run out.
I was vcationing in Tennessee last summer and ran out of ammo.
A quick trip to the pro shop and I was back in business.
I hear what you're saying.
As much as I love the turrets on my TT I still prefer the MTC turrets on my S&B's.
My TT was one of those steals which is why it is in MOA.
I shoot both and go back and forth with no issues.
