New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Because you posted this, I went back and checked my eye piece in the dark with the illumination on...looks like I was about 1/20 of a turn off. Moved it just a tiny bit past my original witness mark, and the illumination is much better now - still a touch of bleed, but completely acceptable...
I don't have both reticles in that scope, but I have the 2C in my 3-15x and EBR-2D in a Vortex PST gen 1. I'm really starting to like the open center - but only if it's not too large an opening.
I could've gotten the 2D model cheaper from Euro Optic (they have the 2D on closeout at $699), which...
Oh yeah, that was 5+ years ago....that black rifle in the pic (the one wearing the Zeiss in question) is actually quite the shooter, which I didn't really expect from that lightweight stainless barrel. I'll have to post pics of it sometime...it now wears a KAC URX 3.1 handguard, is dipped in...
Had an older Razor HD Gen II in 1-6x, loved the glass (have yet to see better), but I ultimately sold it because of the weight (25 oz) a few years back. A couple weeks ago I went to my preferred local store to buy the new lighter weight Razor HD Gen II-E (21 oz), and ended up coming home with...
Did you try it on the rear ring instead? Seems like your illumination knob would make it tougher to see, but hard to tell for sure from the pic.
Nice rig too...I have several Aero builds. I have Noveske and some other big name rifles, but none I like better than my Aero stuff....big name...
I didn't read through all the replies, but here's my thoughts in no particular order... I have the FFP 3-15x44 with EBR-2C reticle.
Illumination sucks, it's heavy, and I still pulled a 3.5-15x50 NXS off of a rifle in order to put this scope on it. And I didn't do it for the money I had left...
Just saw this ancient thing in my profile and felt like a dick that I never chimed back in. In the end, I remounted it and scope was the issue, so they took it back...no harm, no foul. Rifle was a shooter before swapping scopes and I ran the scope on a couple guns to make sure, so I knew the...
Weatherby Vanguard .223 Trainer/Varmint Rifle - 22" target crowned heavy (#3) contour barrel in .223 Rem (1/9) - $900 Shipped
I put this one together for use as a varmint/training bolt gun, but I prefer to shoot suppressed with neighbors so close. Shoots great, love the adjustable 2-stage...
To the guys citing the mounting hight issue of the 56mm objective - We're only talking about giving up 3mm of mounting clearance here…I think that's about 1/10th of an inch or so? As has been mentioned, there are going to be very few scenarios where it's going to make any difference whatsoever...
AI has seen this thread. I will try to get answers about the monopod. Half the reason I wanted the AICS is because I can swap stocksides and use attachments like a mono-pod. At this point, this isn't really going so well.
Thanks for info and photos. That's about how well I would do it. Function trumps form anyway.
I still can't believe AI just decided that cut wasn't worth making any longer...knowing damn well there will be customers who buy the monopod thinking it'll be plug 'n play.
The modularity is what...
I'm not going to bother Mile High with something they never sold, but I'd almost bet they got shorted one. Hopefully AI will just send me the piece I need, and a pre-paid envelope to return the one with the 1x1 recess.
Do you know if the hole for the monopod is still in the aluminum chassis...
Midway only offers one type, so I'm guessing AI sent them the wrong one.
And now that you mention it, why the hell did AI get rid of the hole to mount the accu-shot monopod?
Thanks for the info. Did you see where I posted about the order number on the AI stocksides box? The order number is "Mile High 1225". I'm wondering if AI didn't ship Midway the wrong one?
I would believe that about the plastic...the other edges are how they came from the mold. If they're throwing these on a CNC to cut them, that's about what I'd expect a soft plastic to do.
That's all understandable...my gripe is that they don't bother telling you anything...they're not...
Funny you say that. These stocksides (which I just received from Midway USA) came in a box with a sticker on it that includes the following text...
"Customer Order Number: Mile High 1225"
Midway is great about returns, so I'm not worried about them. I wonder if AI didn't happen to ship...
The stocksides that came with my chassis have a small inlet molded into the part where the bolt rests.
I think they changed the design, and then changed their minds shortly after and went back to the big block.
Either that, or they cut the chunk out of the stocksides so they'll fit older chassis.
From what I'm finding out, that gap is supposed to be there, but it's filled by a piece of metal (part of the chassis), and I'm guessing the rough edges would be covered by the metal. My particular AICS 1.5 (which I just bought from EuroOptic.com a few weeks ago) is a *slightly* older version...
