Recommended triggers for a Rem 700

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm an AR guy and I prefer the Geissele 2-stage trigger (SD-E in particular) and am curious if anyone has found a 2 stage that feels similar for the 700.

AI = Apathy International? Take a look at these new stocksides.

I just got a set of AICS 1.5 pistol grip stocksides to throw on my 700 while the others are off to get hydro-dipped. At first I thought someone did a dremel job on these and then returned them, but then I looked on Midway's website and I see that cut is supposed to be there. 1. Why are...

New long range chassis on the market

Being a big AR nut, I've always wanted to see a 700 chassis that would accept AR grips, AR stocks, and AR hand-guards (which would require the use of a barrel nut). That setup looks like it has potential, but you're basically only showing a half-executed idea....wait until you can show the...

Classic AICS Thumbhole Stocksides - Can a spare set be purchased separately?

Ah...copy that. I just got my new 1.5 installed. It's pretty easy to see they streamlined the manufacturing process by making plastic skins so they can be configured for either the 1.5 or for the 2.0. I don't mind the busier look of these new style skins. The feel is good to go, for my...

Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC - SD w/ RACS Chassis

Love that chassis, would love to own one....but as far as I knew, this chassis isn't available to the civilian market. So why post something you know everyone wants and can't find, unless you're going to tell where you got it? Why not just come out with the information that you know everyone...

Classic AICS Thumbhole Stocksides - Can a spare set be purchased separately?

Thanks for the link...they're out of stock, but that's a place to start. I'll contact them and see if they will be getting more.

Classic AICS Thumbhole Stocksides - Can a spare set be purchased separately?

By old style vs new style do you mean the thumbhole vs pistol grip? Is AI going to a pistol grip on the AICS 1.5/2.0 in the future? I can't see them doing that, but it would be a shame if so. I really like the classic looks of the AICS. Don't get me wrong....being an AR guy, I like a pistol...

Classic AICS Thumbhole Stocksides - Can a spare set be purchased separately?

Thanks guys, but I'd really like to know if they can be purchased new, and if so, how much they sell for. That's a possibility, but I'm thinking about getting a black set, and having my tan ones dipped.

Classic AICS Thumbhole Stocksides - Can a spare set be purchased separately?

I'm building out a 700 SPS AAC-SD and recently picked up an AICS 1.5 in tan. I'd like to get a spare set to have dipped in ATACS or Multicam. I see the pistol grip ones for sale everywhere, but none of the original thumbhole ones.

    GAP10 ShowEm Off Pics

Just get the brake you want and plan on changing it when you get the rifle. Sucks, but they have rules for a reason. It's not "No order changes, unless it's convenient for you." :o

Rifle Scopes Rings at 20 in/lbs too tight?

Thanks, man. Having a scope not retain zero is extremely frustrating...you feel like telling them they owe you some ammo by the time you figure it out. The fact that SWFA is actually trying to blame me, and being talked down to by a guy who apparently knows less than myself about the mount...

Rifle Scopes Vortex Viper PST vs Vortex Razor HD

Anyone compared the PST and/or Razor to Trijicon's scopes? I'm just talking glass quality. Trijicon's glass, IMO, seems to be right up there with Nightforce. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect from the two Vortex scopes.

    Rifle Scopes Glass clarity

I had this Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50 FFP with Illuminated Reticle. For $995, the glass was nice, but the eye relief was too picky for my taste...could never really look through it and see a clear picture edge to edge. Lots of tunneling. I also had a Nightforce 2.5-10x32...great glass...

Rifle Scopes Rings at 20 in/lbs too tight?

Yep, that is exactly what AD recommends and I do have the AD mount locked down TIGHT (I'm no stranger to AD mounts...have several of them, never had this problem before). I wouldn't have bothered calling SWFA until I had tried everything....I even blamed it on wind until the elevation started...

Rifle Scopes Rings at 20 in/lbs too tight?

Long story short, my brand new Zeiss HD5 doesn't hold a zero. Shoot 3, 5, maybe 10 shots and it'll hold under MOA at 100 yards...then zero just jumps (we're talking 2-3" at times). Almost every time I pick the rifle up, the zero has to be tweaked because it's off again. I've mounted a lot...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-6 3-18x44 or 3-18x50 - Anyone have one?

Thanks, but I'm looking at the VX-6 w/illuminated reticle.

Rifle Scopes Triji. TR23 w/Amber chevron as precision optic?

Good topic...I've considered one of those over one of the crosshair models, but I keep telling myself I need mil-dots or a BDC style reticle for longer ranges. I have a Trijicon 3-9x40 with the red triangle/post reticle on a little 14.5" AR that I use for shooting critters (coyotes, racoons...

Rifle Scopes I don't know what i am doing or what to buy

If you're punching paper at 200, and hoping to get out to 300-400 if the opportunity arises, I'd consider going with something like a 2.5-10x or 3-9x magnification. More and more SEALs and special forces guys are using 14.5" barreled carbines with this type of optic for intermediate range...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-6 3-18x44 or 3-18x50 - Anyone have one?

I have a Zeiss Conquest HD-5 on my predator rifle (AR). It's not holding zero and I'm debating whether to return it and get the Leupold, or try another Zeiss. I'm specifically thinking about one with the Boone & Crockett reticle (illuminated, big plus). Anyone used one?

    Rifle Scopes zeiss HD-5

SWFA at first told me to send it to Zeiss, which apparently takes about 10-12 weeks. After raising a little hell (this scope is brand new and never worked), they called Zeiss and the Zeiss rep said they would send a brand new replacement out immediately. SWFA also told me they would let me swap...
