    Vortex Impact 4000 and Razor 4000 mini-review.

You can run offset to your reticle or you can zero the impact to your scope reticle at a distance that is close to the farthest distance you'd be shooting/ranging at. I personally like zeroing the impact to my scope reticle at 1100-1500yds. I feel this method is more precise than measuring an...

    Vortex Impact 4000 and Razor 4000 mini-review.

This will depend on what you are trying to range. If the target is the first thing the laser can possibly hit then first is the best mode. If you are ranging through a pocket of trees/bushes and the target is pretty much the last thing the laser will hit then run last. Generally, normal is...

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Is the remote still flashing. If so, what color is the light flashing? Is it still showing that its connected to the impact in the "number of devices" bubble on the impact display? This is the round bubble with a number in it on the top edge of the display. If just the impact is on the bubble...

It's my pleasure my friend! No thanks necessary.

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Yes, it actually ends up working pretty decent at a 45. The screen may flip everyonce in a while, but its not bad at all in my experience. The screen, however is always in auto rotate. There is no way to lock the orientation. As far as brass hitting is cocerned, the only worry is hitting the...

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Definitely no disagreement here Mr Tom. A direct mount to the receiver pic rail and/or the same rail your scope is mounted to(like you have hear) would be about as solid as you can get.

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

I wouldn't recommend this unless you are running a monolithic upper with machined integral pic rails. Forearms flex and move and asking a small m-lok rail to support the impact is alot to ask and will eventually shift or loosen if you shoot alot. The most fail safe way to mount a weapon mounted...

    How close is too close?

I took off a barrel a few years back that I shot most of the season with with. I had my scope(G2 4.5-27) about this close(OP's picture) and was a little surprised to see the polished spot on the barrel and scope where it was hitting during whip. Never caused any problems and I shot pretty well...

Educate me on SFP POI and magnifaction changes

Yes to all all of your questions. Just out of curiosity did you get a 3-15 PST or a Viper HD 3-15? v/r Scott

    Vortex PST

The Viper HD's are replacing standard Vipers,Viper HS. The PST's are a different line. The Midway scopes, as someone mentioned above, are discontinued reticles which is why they are on sale. Hope that helps.

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

If im understanding you correctly, you adjusted your zero when playing with different loads, is this correct? If so, this would account for your laser no longer being aligned with your reticle. Does that make sense? Respectfully Scott

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Hello All, I think there is some confusion here and I am part of the problem as i left a few key points out in my earlier posts. If you are co aligning close range then absolutely you should be offsetting the vis laser to your scopes 100yd zero. Now, on to what I mentioned earlier...

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

It'll get the job done, but I prefer to align out at 1k or beyond. In low light(just after dusk) you can see the vis laser well beyond 1k on white targets. As far as switching the impact to different platforms goes. You will need to realign the impacts laser to the new scope/rifle zero. The...

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Hello, The short answer is yes, you will need to align the Impact to every different rifle/scope set up you put it on before using. This is for the same reasons you need to rezero your scope when you move it to a different rifle. Since the riflescope reticle becomes your lrf aiming...

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

There are multiple timeout settings in the menu including no timeout at all. In that setting you have to manually turn it off or it won't turn off until the power dies. As far as calculation time goes, I'm wondering if you might have had the impact in ELR mode. That will increase time to...
