    Rifle Scopes Older Vortex rings

They could very well be badgers. Badger did make 35mm steel rings for us(2012-2015ish). The original 35mm steel Vorrtex rings(2009-2012) were not badgers. If you can post a close up picture I can tell you for sure.

Rifle Scopes Scope wrap for AMG

DThomas, That is a very interesting info. In all actuality the AMG has the hardest finish of any in our line. Most scopes on the market are type 2 hardcoat . This is true for the Gen 2 razor. As we mentioned earlier in the thread the AMG is mil spec Type 3 hardcoat. Fell free to contact me...

Rifle Scopes Scope wrap for AMG

I felt the need to post on this thread. Mainly because I think there may be a misconception about scratching. The AMG uses a anodized type 3 hard coat finish. We are using the same finish prescribed by MIL-A-8625F for Type III, class II hardcoat finish. With this type of finish it can be...

    Rifle Scopes Another Vortex down

lte82, I am sorry to hear about this. At the same time I am very surprised. Typically if a scope is moving 4" under impact/recoil it will also have finicky tracking. Anyhow, please give me a call and lets see if we can diagnose over the phone as we have never seen anything like this in a Gen 2...

Rifle Scopes Vortex razor gen II help

Hello all, Its already been mentioned, but just to give everyone peace of mind. We recommend 10-12" lb on the set screws. Also, like has been mentioned, you will want to touch off all three, then snug all three, and then torque all three. If you follow this SOP I can assure you that they...

Rifle Scopes Unable to dial out prallax

Just wanted to jump in on this thread also. I posted in yermans thread also. Here is what I said- Yerman, I thought this sounded very odd as I have never heard of anything like this having to do with a parallax lens. So I looked in to it a bit. I am assuming your initials are BW,is that...

Rifle Scopes Current Vortex AMG wait time?

That is great feedback. Sometimes it is hard for us to look at things from a perspective of someone like the guy at the range you mentioned. I looked at the manual and you are correct. All we say is "loosen" the set screws. We do not specify how much to loosen/back them out. So I can see that...

Rifle Scopes Current Vortex AMG wait time?

Glad you like the scope. It is great to hear that it covers everything you wanted. I am curious as to what you find hairy about the zero stop? Maybe we can help or even make changes. Best Regrads Scott Parks

Rifle Scopes After Bore Sighting Rifle Scope

Depending on what your scope over bore height is it is not uncommon to have to use use 5-8mils up for a 8yd shot(24ft). For example- with a 1.95" scope over bore my 24ft (8yd) hold is 5.4mils. With a 2.5" I am at 7mils. A couple other things to consider are that guns are not perfectly...

Rifle Scopes Leveling Scope Driving Me Crazy - Gen 2 Razor on 700 5R

Try the level on any flat surface and then spin the level 180 degrees. You should get the same exact reading. If you dont then the level is the culprit. This is pretty common with these short little bubble levels. Please let me know if you have any questions Best regards Scott Parks

Rifle Scopes Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 SFP CRS shims

This is not uncommon on factory rifles. We must always remember that the whole reason scopes have adjustments is to correct for misalignment's in the rifle. Here are some things we have to take into consideration- bore curvature(that's a long whole to drill perfectly straight), Barrel tenon...

Rifle Scopes Can I tnstall rings (Nightforce or Seekins) without a torque wrench?

You could, but I would highly recommend using a torque wrench. Well over 90% of issues that we see are caused by some sort of improper mounting. Over torquing rings falls in that category. Best Regards Scott

Rifle Scopes Is my scope possessed?

What number is the rotation indicator at on your windage turret when it is zeroed? It sounds like the erector tube may be hitting the scope tube when you are dialing your elevation. This is caused when a good amount of windage has to be used to get the rifle zeroed. When there is certain amount...

Rifle Scopes razor hd 5-20 issue

Hello, As was already stated the zero stop is set at the center of the travel when it leaves here. The windage is also set at the center when it leaves here. I see you have turned your windage all the down(left). You may want to center that back out for a couple of reasons. 1. When you go...

Rifle Scopes Tracking issues with my Vortex Razor 1-6

Just a quick note, This is probably the problem. The bottom screws must be tightened first without any tension on the top screws. The bottom screws are what holds the rings to the base. They do not hold the scope at all. More than likely what was happening was the whole scope was shifting...

Rifle Scopes Full day with the Vortex 4.5-27x - Initial Impressions

It is against Vortex’s international shipping policy for a USA dealer to ship Vortex products to Australia. However, we do have a great distributor and dealer network in Australia. We highly recommend that Aus citizens purchase any Vortex products direct from Australia. This way the consumer...
