PRS Talk what power do most of you guys use @ PRS style matches?

12x almost always. I run a Mark 5 3.6-18 and if I put the throw knob/lever straight up at 12 oclock it’s basically right on 12x. Only time I crank it up to 18 is long range prone, 900 yards and beyond.

    Floor plate

There’s a hole in the bottom plate of the mag. I stick an allen or screwdriver in there, rest the scredriver/allen on the bench with the mag hanging off the side then just push down on the mag. You can also pry the plate with a really skinny screwdriver.

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

Hahaha we had a great time, none of us shot particularly well but it was a super fun match. We're all spread out across the country so it was great to get to hang out for the weekend. I'll probably screw around with my transitions this weekend now that you've brought it up. You can see by my...

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

Honestly I’m not exactly sure. I think I started doing it when practicing the PRS barricade skills stage trying to be efficient. It started by moving the bag and rifle as a unit but now I think I’m doing it sub subconsciously. What’s your thoughts on it? I’m always open to changing my habits.

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

I'm probably gonna catch some shit for this but here's a video of my goofy ass shooting the tire scramble stage at Altus. Targets were at 306 and 450. Luckily the one stage my buddy video'd me on I happened to clean. Other than possibly clipping a pump pillow on your belt I'm not sure there's...

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

The more matches I shoot the less I feel like gaming and the gear race is an issue. I shot the Accuracy International match at Altus this past weekend as well and the course of fire flat out didn't allow for any wasted time fiddling with extra gear. It was my first east coast match and going in...

PRS Talk Some 2018 PRS data - for the wonks in the house

Pretty cool data here. I heard the PRS put together a list of last years matches that analyzes top/median scores and they have a guideline for where they’d like matches to end up. Not sure where to find that document but I heard it’s out there somewhere. Speaking of scores did you guys see the...

    Ruck building advice

First off, if you go cheap on anything when it comes to long range precision shooting or hunting you're likely pissing money away. It either wont last or you'll hate it and end up losing money when you upgrade. I've ran damn near every hunting style pack out there from nearly all the big...

    Tikka CTR or Varmint?

Tikka barrels are known for being slow, though typically very accurate. I would lean towards the 24” just to pick up that extra velocity.

PRS Talk PRS Mag Flag- ACIS Version - Yow-Tech

Have you sent this to the PRS? It'd be cool to know that it is an approved alternative. Since it seems that they'll be enforcing them this year I'd much rather run your mag style one but would like to know that they're approved.
