New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Eddie, if directed at me, I did not bed it. So far it has shot really well in a bdl wood stock, a graphite edge my son had and now this gap classic I ordered for it. None bedded.
In my Hawk Hill #2 with 8 twist, the 6.5 Berger ammo with 135 classics is shooting sub .5 moa. Velocity is at 2750 fps with 22" of barrel. I should just stop reloading but I love 140 vlds too. And they shoot the same but at 2710 fps in my reloads.
My Gap Camo McMillan classic showed up today. Per usual they did a great job on it. Going to try and shoot this weekend and see if it needs bedding or not. Love that it matches my hunting rigs so closely.
Just got a lefty ss Rem 700 off Gunbroker for $333. The guy has 14 left. For that price I had to put another on the shelf lol. Bought Wed and tracking says Monday for delivery. Granted it isn't a custom, but my last 700 build is outshooting me anyway lol.
Question for you guys. Have a 2 ounce Shilen trigger on mine. Have to admit I kind of like it, but pretty light nonetheless for a rig that might get hunted a bit. If I have a Timney CE with bolt release, does that matter at all or can I just mount it up as is with the bolt release on the...
Got to range today. The shorter throat sure shoots well. The very first 3 rounds were the Berger 135 Classic Hunter factory loads. Very low ES and very accurate out to 500 yards today. It makes an easy factory choice if I decide to just buy factory. This Hawk Hill 8 twist chambered in a weeks...
Well I decided to go with the 147 eld hitting lands at 2.81. Got some of those loaded as well as some 140 vld. And was happy that the 135 Berger factory ammo fed without issue and did not contact the lands. So we'll see how the Hawk Hill #2 at 22" does here soon hopefully.
Learning which ammo my Vudoo seems to like. My son shot what I felt was a real good 10 shot group at 50 yards with SK Standard Plus. The SK Match shoots well too. Really enjoying messing around with the Vudoo and anxious to stretch it out.
