    mixing powders ?!?!

    The only thing I do is mix my jugs of Varget togeather so that whatever the load comes out to be its the same for all my loads until the powder is gone. I do the same with my jugs of 4350, mix them to make one lot. I just don't have the balls to mix different burn rates of powder.

    6.5x55 tactical rifle

    Its a great tactical round. I have one in a HTG stock with a Kreiger barrel in a sendero contour. Its between the 260 and the 6.5x284 for ballistics. If you shoot it at 260 velocities you will get better barrel life because you can use slower burning powders. Great round!!

    SScott, I think the 284 is a little more than a "Step" away for the 7MM-08. Don't get me wrong I really like the 7MM-08 but my 284 pushes the 162AMAX 200fps faster than you are.

    I shot them in my last 260 and they shot GREAT!! I was worried about the lower BC but there was surprising little adjustment over the AMAXs. I used 37 or 38grs of varget with mine as I recall. Hpe this helps
