Anyone using MDT metal mags with Hawkins Hunter BM
Quick update, I was completely wrong in my first post. I grabbed a rifle off the shelf with the short action Hawkins Hunter DBM and short action AICS (MDT) mags fit up and locked in perfectly. Looking back I have no clue which one we were messing with that we couldn’t get an AICS mag to fit…...- EXSOCAL

Hmmmm... I'll have to mess with it again tomorrow. I just had a rifle in the shop with the Hawkins hunter DBM and the short action MDT mag we had wouldn't fit. I'll grab a DBM off the shelf and check it again.- EXSOCAL

Hawkins Hunter DBM requires their proprietary mags. AICS mags won’t work. Mag dimensions and the latch placement is different.- EXSOCAL

Short action is fine for 6.5 PRC. I’ve built medium action 6.5’s for customers who had to have it that way and they don’t even use the extra room. Up here in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve seen a little trend away from the little 6mm’s, myself included. We get some decent winds and weather for a lot of matches.
