New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I went through the same thing. Read rumors about Thunder Beast and a stainless 30 caliber can they were calling the 30HD and wanted this and later a 30BA or 30BAS to use the same mount but wasn't getting much word on a time frame and kept reading such good Specwar 762 reviews that I got...
I wouldn't make a habit of it but it's a fine deal as long as you pay it off. If you don't pay it off in time they will charge you interest accumulated from the purchase date and not just the end of interest free period so you will end up paying quite a bit extra.
Most I know that have the money to buy whatever and use customs instead just don't like the weight or ergonomics of the Accuracy International Chassis.
It's because 8x is barely larger than that the 5x min on a 5-20 or 5-25 scope. 8/5 is 1.6 so 8x is 1.6 times the 5x min that the reticle must size down to. On a 2.5-10 a magnification of 4x provides the same factor of 1.6 increase from the minimum magnification.
Range of magnification relative to reticle size should depend more on a multiplication factor rather than subtraction... So 3-15 is 5x magnification range, 4-16 is 4x, and 3.5-21 is 6x.
This might seem like it doesn't make a difference but it especially does when comparing optics with different...
I have fixed 10 and 3-15 SS and the low end magnification is the big advantage of the 3-15 to me. 10x is a little much for many applications and makes the scope a lot less versatile. I would probably buy the fixed 6x if I were to do it again unless it were to be used on a rifle dedicated to...

This question always brings a heated debate and doesn't need discussed again after the last thread just simmered down. Both are good, if you have friends in your area into long range shooting I would get what they shoot so they can...
Check out the 2.5-10x32 or 42 PST in FFP configuration. I normally wouldn't think much of needing FFP on low magnification but at night you are often shooting from in a dark area where you can't see your turrets to dial for a shot and can't see your magnification setting to know what...
We've compared an NXS 24 and 42 objective at my house at night looking into low light area trying to pick out objects... The 24 seems to lose its brightness after 3x or so where the 42 can seem to get to 5x or more before it becomes noticeable to the point of the 24.
With all that said I would...
I've been messing with Remington and considering having one trued and new barrel fitted or going with a custom but seeing so many untouched Savage actions with DIY home barrel swaps shoot so well sure is tempting.
