Are precision .22 rimfires ammo picky or

Because none of us have any way of knowing who is doing what behind the scenes. We don't know if one individual is cutting corners getting poor results. We don't know if one person is getting great results because they are simply getting lucky or flat out overhype-ing their results. And the...

    Bergara Ballistic Calculations / Error

What is the scope? Wonder if you have some scope tracking error. I assume you have all the enviromentals accounted for in the app. Either way, it is what it is. 6 - 6.5 moa is the solution for your setup. There's no way the b.c. is in the .3xx's......its gonna be in the .105 to .185 range...

    Bergara Ballistic Calculations / Error

    1. Of course a bolt gun can have more velocity for the same load. The semi is using the gas/recoil energy to cycle the gun. Some of the gas/energy goes rearward while some of the gas goes out the front behind the bullet. But you also have things like chamber dimensions, throat dimensions...

Ruger Precision Rimfire - Recommended Upgrades?

I would cut the factory trigger spring down by a coil or two. Costs nothing and is easy to do.... and doesn't drop the weight to anything too dangerous for a beginner. Especially if you want to experiment half a coil at time. I would have bought the Ruger American Long Range or the Target...

    Shooting the Musket - M40A1

I was shopping for Black Friday deals today and was hoping McMillan had something going. No luck. Wanted to find a M40A1 stock or get a discount to make a A1-ish type stock. Since I saw this build I've been wanting to copy it. Just plan to do a Sendero contour inlet and Remington hinged...

Rifle Competition Events What would you change or do differently with current competitions/organizations?

After reading some of the last few posts.....I think I saw a 1/4" kyl target no further than 60 or 65yds in the many years of doing NRL22. And it definitely wasn't a hit to advance type target. I did see one as part of like a 110 - 120yd 15 plate kyl rack at a NRL22X or outlaw (can't remember...

True story: A girl that hit on me in my teens....ended up having a kid (with another dude my age) at 14. Her daughter is 23 now.....and that daughter has a kid that's now 5. All I keep thinking is damn.......I almost could've been a grandpa before I was 40.

So over the Contrived and Repetitive Nature of Stages today

Probably why they have crowds show up just to watch and TV shows dedicated for it. It has national pride and the government's self interest to motivate them to do something. Having the populace actively training and competing to build marksmen that have practical rapid ability to engage...

    how to fix this

It's a good thing the seat pivots on a.....well.....a pivot. At 6 o'clock position your shoulders are square behind the gun. Gives more real estate for the bipod/front rest. Rear bags don't require a ton of room.

Getting started in rimfire PRS - What rife?

You shot competitively and want to dabble in competition.....and like the fine things. Do you want $2500 competition rifle or the $600 hunting rifle pressed into competition. Seems like a hard choice.

My Mom worked at the Tonopah Test Range in the early to mid 90's. She's got a Northrup Grumman (?) company in house VHS tape on the F-117. I remember the nickname was the "Wobblin Goblin". It surprisingly showed a pilot carrying the flight data in a little black box mini suitcase type thing...

So over the Contrived and Repetitive Nature of Stages today

The point is there is plenty of precedence for adequately transferring what is going on. I don't have a F'n clue what they are saying and we easily follow along with what they are doing. You get the format, the targets, and feedback immediately if it was a hit or miss amd where. It doesn't...

So over the Contrived and Repetitive Nature of Stages today

No offense. There's other shooting sports that are fun to watch. This game is two shooters side by side standing. On the command, drop and hit 3 uneven distance targets faster than the other guy. Winner moves on. 👇Jump to the 4:45 min mark unless you want to see the people who aren't too...
