Is body armor necessary for a civilian?

This taken from another site on the expiration date of body armor: These products have chemical components like Kevlar, composite, or other types of fiber that might degrade after some time. According to studies, UV rays can also be a significant factor that lessens the shelf life of the...

Is body armor necessary for a civilian?

If it’s properly coated then spalling is a not an issue. Steel provides a cost effective solution for some and holds up much better to rough handling or repeated strikes over ceramic. The only downside is weight or contour when compared to other options. While I am not recommending them, they do...

    Which AR to buy?

All depends on the person answering the question. We all have our likes and dislikes so try a few and decide for yourself what you want to invest your money in. I like my Barrett rifles.

    Hodgdon closes Black Powder plant

So by that analogy, we don’t need much smokeless powder either as hunting season is not very long. There are a large number of folks who shoot muzzle loading pistols, rifles, and canons year round. While I am stuck mainly using triple seven, I prefer real black powder.

    I'm done with the IRS.

Not the most well-oiled machine that's for sure. I started getting an overpayment refund check back in 1995 for an overpayment in the 1993 tax year. Problem was, I was now divorced but the check was made out to both of us with my last name. I would get one every year, call the IRS and explain...

New homemade reloading/gunsmithing workbench. stain or leave in the white?

If you leave it untreated, you will eventually get fluids and oils on it anyway. You can have small stains everywhere or coat it with something and have it looking nice a bit longer. The top of my bench is not coated but I have a rubber mat over the working surface which helps.

Had to medevac a guy back to Germany to a burn unit when one of those flares he was working on went off in his lap. Guess he was using the wrong tool and set it off. Guy was a mess. Another guy was walking out the door of the shop at the time and the flash burned him as well but not nearly as bad.

    ZCO vs TT Turrets

For those that might care, I sent off for the Gen II magnifier and it should prove to be a massive improvement over the first one. While I have not mounted it on the optic yet, a quick pick shows it is much clearer and has way more magnification than the first version. Anyway, just posting this...

Not a chance. Go purchase a nice sports car or new truck and drive it around for a few weeks and then take it back, see if you get your refund.

Is my landlord a fucking dick?

If he is renting for way under the going rate, fix the damn window and not worry about it. Looking at how much he has saved you since renting, can you afford to move out and pay maybe double what you do now over a broken window. Yes it sucks having to pay for it but the alternative may end up...

Need a new tow strap, American made. Recommendations?

I carry a bubba rope (big bubba 52,300 breaking strength) on my F350 but I also carry a regular strap and I have a Warn winch. Bubba rope is great for getting someone out of a jam as long as you have enough room to use it. Mine was around 400 or so but you may also decide on synthetic shackles...

    ZCO vs TT Turrets

I tried those and the clarity of the plastic lens are horrible, at least the one I purchased. I enjoy both, just tend to use my reading glasses a bit more with the TT

    ZCO vs TT Turrets

I have both and while I prefer my TT optic overall, I have to give it to ZCO on the ability to see the numbers on the turret. I prefer to visually verify the settings; my older eyes appreciate ZCO in this area.

    Henderson trimmer information

Henderson will release a set number of units every few months and if the unit is available it will show as in stock. Once you order the in stock item, it takes another six weeks or so for them to build the item and ship it. In stock generally means they have the materials to make the item but...

Training Courses SNIPER'S HIDE 3-DAY P.R. - PALA RANGE, SO. CAL, FEB '22

I attended the three-day at Pala earlier this year and I highly recommend the class for anyone in the SoCal area that can make it. Unfortunately, I recently had shoulder surgery that precludes me from shooting for six months or I would sign up again. For those on the fence and wondering if you...
