For best accuracy do you really need a muzzle brake?

I don't know. Do you have the mental fortitude to direct your focus? If so, you could just not read my posts...

    Sako TRG / TRG-S M995 Thread **Sticky??**

This thread got corrupted and would not accept/show new posts. So I started this: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/trg-appreciation-thread-part-iii.7137685/ If this (the old thread) has started working again, all is well I guess. But do take a detour through the other one for...

Tikka CTR with a Tac A1 Chassis

Rail is attached with screws and loctite, I.e. removable, not a part of the action. Several threads here regarding this IIRC. Brownells sells a replacement by EGW if unavailable from seller.

Tikka CTR with a Tac A1 Chassis

The TAC A1 chassis comes with the correct rail. Maybe check with whom you bought it from and see if it is available. Or buy a new one from Tikka/Beretta?

308 Win chambers. Is a match chamber really necessary?

This. What defines a match chamber to you (OP)? Longer free bore? Will it exceed max mag length? Will you single load? Tight neck? Will you forego the ability to use factory loads? The short and long of it since you need to ask: No.

For best accuracy do you really need a muzzle brake?

Don't take well to touge in cheek comments I see. Well well, nobody's loss i guess. How about you explain how a naked gun (more recoil) does not force you to improve your technique... And during that, consider if every comment should be percieved as a personal offence. I'm not here to...

For best accuracy do you really need a muzzle brake?

Then, maybe, you should learn to shoot without any muzzle device, because it seems your aid has become a crutch... 😜

TRG appreciation thread - Part III

The thread on the TRG bolt handle is M6. I don't know what the AI uses (but a search indicates that it is the same). Other than that, it is all a matter of clearance. Try and report. Good luck!

    Trg 42 chassis recommendation

I second Blues reply above. I appreciate the W3 for the ease of use quick adjust, but the stock stock is one of the best when set up right. The rear stock cracks at the 'ears' and is usually only cosmetic from what I've seen. There is an aluminium brace running from mounting point to but pad...

    Trg 42 chassis recommendation

Get the KRG fixed/folder W3 rear stock only and be done with it. Unless you need to wheigh it down, then get the full W3. A PauTac would be an excellent choice, as would a Cadex. But bang for buck, the W3 rear is as good as you get. What is your reason to get a chassis?

    Sako TRG torque specs??

Action screws torque is 10 Nm (88.5 in lbs/7.4 ft lbs, as per post #9 above (and it being standard torque for M6 screws). Mounting a KRG folder does not require loosening all the action screws, only the most rearward one. Reassemble and torque mid and front action screws first. Then mount the...

    Sako TRG 42, or 42A1?

    Yes M18x1.

Sako S20 vs Tikka T3 UPR?

IMO both the S20 and the UPR are 'not so good' copies of the features that makes the TRG what it is. I would choose neither since none of them are what they pretend to be. I would get the cheapest Tikka (varmint) available and put it in a good stock/chassis that fills my need (probably a KRG W3...

TRG appreciation thread - Part III

Yes. Another clue as to year of mfg, if you manage to find out when they started using machine/laser Yes. I don't know when (or if) they changed that to machine engraving. Yes. Any Tikka (and some older Sako) trigger will do. It has to be drilled and pinned into the trigger guard though (2 mm...

TRG appreciation thread - Part III

Old trigger and first folder would place it 2008-2013, if the were bought at the same time. Even with a serial it would be hard to find the info since Beretta can't help and Sako probably won't. Try mailing Sako directly. Don't hold your breath waiting though...

    "Best" "AR-10" for precision?

You have said that twice now, so I get that you feel strongly about it. And from what I've been able to find, to get one I have to increase my budget by at least $1000. I'm kind of not inclined to do that.

    "Best" "AR-10" for precision?

Thank you! Gives me an opportunity to scratch an itch and yes I hand load, for both target and hunting. HK is a bit excessive price wise but I'll take a second look. A slight misunderstanding about the definition of "big game" then. To me "big game" is moose and brown bear. I hardly ever hunt...

    "Best" "AR-10" for precision?

Nothing here a 308 won't kill (or even a 6.5CM)... I don't mind getting the knowledge, or the proficiency. It's parts availability that is the problem. If it was about an AR-15, it would be a bit easier due to the IPSC/dynamic shooter scene but 10:s are all but non existent. The DD seems like...
