    The Fix from Q

For barrel changes? I’m just using their barrel wrench and holding the rifle against the floor or table. It’s only torqued to 40ft-lbs so not a lot of force. I also don’t have any other way to hold it currently so that my only option for now.

    Importance of chronograph with calculator

I can feel you with the cost of range time. Living in Alaska ammo prices can get ridiculous. Sounds like I will have to look into getting a chronograph, as I would like to become more efficient at assessing optimal loads. I keep hearing Magnetospeed referenced, so I'm assuming it is a...

    Importance of chronograph with calculator

I’ve been debating getting one, just can’t tell if it’s worth the cost or not. Since I know velocity can vary from the factory especially if I’m using a longer or shorter barrel, plus adding a suppressor I’ve read can change it too. I know when I get into reloading, I’m going to want one, just...

    Importance of chronograph with calculator

I am probably just looking for an excuse to buy more gear, but....... Strictly speaking factory loads, how important is it to have a chronograph to correct your velocity in a ballistic calculator? I am using TRASOL, which has worked out well on the range so far.

    338 Creedmoor / 8.6 Creedmoor

Relistened to the podcast. He starts talking about the 8.6 @34:30. Supers will be between 150-180gr, subs will be 250-350gr. Twist is between 1:1-1:3, not 1:2, still sounds crazy fast. Sounds like Q and Hornady are doing a lot of r&d so they release all info to SAAMI and manufacturers. Seems...

Listened to the latest Q&A$$ podcast and it sounded like it would be a 1:1 or 1:2 twist rate.....

    The Fix from Q

I like the idea of the lightweight 16” 6.5cm barrel, would be nicer for hunting. Only reason I got the 6.5 proof was it was the only option when I went to order a second barrel. I did the same thing, had to relisten to a couple parts. I thought it was mentioned about a 12.5” 8.6cm pistol...

    The Fix from Q

Episode 15 @53:46 I may quote this wrong, but it sounded like buying a Fix new would only be available with 16” barrels in both .308 and 6.5, both will be lightweight. Other lengths would be available for purchase separately that are match grade.

How about some real accuracy reports out of the Fix by Q...

I’ve got about 600-700 rounds through mine so far. Only problem I had with a heavy bolt lift, which also included a problem extracting the shell, was with one particular ammo made by Rainier Munitions which were reloads. All other factory ammo has shot flawlessly. I primarily shoot mine with a...

Suppressors TBAC and Q the best at suppression?

What makes the TBAC better than Q? I’m looking at getting a dedicated 6.5cm can, and it’s between waiting for Q to release theirs or the TBAC. I have the Q Full Nelson and love it on my .300BO SBR and my .308, just feel a dedicated 6.5 can would do better on my 6.5cm for actual suppression.

    The Fix from Q

No difficulties with those parts. I have issues removing the barrel from the receiver. It just seems that it once the barrel but is removed, the receiver is very tight around the barrel. Yes, I loosen the pinch bolt too. Once the old barrel is removed, the new one goes in fine. I’ve changed the...

    The Fix from Q

Question about barrel changes. Has anyone figured out a good trick to removing the old barrel? That is the hardest part of the process for me to change calibers. It seems like I can strip and reassemble the rest of the rifle in the same amount of time as just pulling the barrel. On a side note...

    The Fix from Q

Nice to hear!! Any chance a larger butt pad was “in the works”? I thought the cheek weld looked low on the pictures of the miniFix brace. Only thing I could speculate at for it being low, is to stay within ATF regulation of it being a brace and nowhere near an actual stock. Hopefully they will...

    The Fix from Q

Here’s my setup with the 16” .308 barrel. I’ll be hitting the range this weekend and switching over to my proof barrel and will try to get a picture of that too. I bought the short top rail, didn’t like the look or feel of the full length plus it makes barrel changes quicker. I have 3 QD sling...
