    Rem 700 AAC-SD blues

BTW- department policy - we sell all our Black Hills match ammo once fired brass for scrap. Thousands of rounds every year. .223 is likely 30k per year, maybe 5k .308. We can't separate it out and sell it, take it home - it's put in a very large bin, weighed, and scrapped. If work is slow...

    Rem 700 AAC-SD blues

I can give it a shot. Aluminum vice blocks at work, plenty of Kroil, and a big freaking hammer. It's worth a try. I like hitting stuff with hammers.

    Rem 700 AAC-SD blues

Haven't heard back from the Remington guy on whether the lug may be the big problemo.

    Rem 700 AAC-SD blues

First off - I thought this was hilarious: Awesome. Enough fun. I looked at JR1's rifle today - and I noticed 2 things. First - the scope base needs to be bedded. It's not terrible, but I can see daylight on the rear when the front is tightened. This is an easy enough fix. Secondly - I...

    I Need A New Safe

Uh . . . . . what? Is this translated from Korean or something?

Steel Armor Plate Damage testing video

Why do they play music that makes me wish I was sitting in front of the plate? I'll have to finish later. The music was killing me.

    Tripod Selection

Sorry - didn't get a chance to snap a pic with the tripod on the eberlestock. Very busy week (5, 12-hour days). Overall, the larger Slik tripod is much more stable than the lighter duty one (mark one up for the no shit list). The carbon fiber version has twist-type leg locks, as does the...

    Remington 783.

Just out of curiosity, which of you that is pointing out the flaws of the 783 actually owns or has shot one? Just curious where you are getting your info from.

    Tripod Selection

It's the PRO 823 CF. OK - when the friction lock on the center column is locked it pans. When the wing nut screw thingy is locked it doesn't. I didn't use it a lot today, but I did play with it a little. Seemed to work fine. I can put it on my eberlestock, but it is a little taller than I...

    Tripod Selection

I did with the center column all the way down - didn't try it with it up and locked. Will try it tomorrow. Just got it a few days ago. All the way up is too tall for me - but I'm only 6-04. ;) I don't see my using the center column much.

    Tripod Selection

Just got a Slik carbon fiber equivalent of the HD tripod from PRS. It's about $100 less than the manfrotto, and about 2 lbs less than the aluminum Slik. I didn't bother with the head, as it's just going to stay under my PIG Saddle. Only had it a few days, but doing a 50 hr sniper school...

Sidearms & Scatterguns glock or smith?

G23 no question. I live me some smith revolver - but there's a reason you don't see them in cops' holsters anymore. If you can find a G19 instead of the G23, ammo and recoil will be a little less.

    Shooting clothes

I wish I knew how to access the smilie thingies still. That deserves something. Figured it out!!! ;)

    Shooting clothes

Neither do I. Just my everyday clothes. ;)

    Shooting clothes

Usually if not a competition or actual training, I like to wear a red t-back thong, black fish-net stockings, ninja toe-shoes, clothes pins on my nipples, and a tan larue hat.

    The PIG Saddle is here...

Well, I never quite had enough money to try the HOG saddle. I just bought he PIG. Thanks. Will run it through its paces at an LE sniper school next week if it gets here in time.

Rifle Scopes Best Law Enforcement optic?

Late to the party - but I'll throw in my 2 cents. I've used Leupold 3.5-10x40 M1s for many years. The longer I do this, the less I think they are ideal. The M5 turrets help, but there are better animals out there. FFP vs SFP - I go against the grain - I don't like FFP for LE work. The...

    F T/R Competition "The Rules"

Consider this passed on and/or stolen. Maybe both. And they spelled fuck wrong in #5. If they were harder, they wouldn't have to say fudge.
