New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
How a suppressor sounds is very subjective...some are definitely quieter (dB's) than others, and some just sound like they are quieter or louder... that said for Full Auto, I'd recommend a Rugged Surge.. in full length config it's pretty quiet, and they are built like tanks.
I definitely have seen some arca-swiss plates have different dimensions... and will slide out of the RRS QD and others.
Try to buy the SAME BRAND is my advice... for example, I use RRS clamps, so I buy RRS plates.
I've had Scott actually beat the Vortex Mil/LEO pricing before (when you tally up shipping, taxes, etc)... especially if he's going to run a July 4th sale (I suspect he will).. so it's worth price checking.
Have you tried a chassis yet? I bought one and sold it... figured out I'm not a...
He said ~3K, not including optics... so I'm assuming he's already budgeted for optics. (I do agree Scott @LibertyOptics is great to work with)
If you have 3K, buy a barreled action that is going to last you awhile and you aren't going to be wanting to upgrade in a few months. (Buy once, cry...
Meopta MeoPro 8x32 HD. I've been pretty impressed with most Meopta Binos... for 429.99 these are kind-of in the middle of your budget.
Vortex Recce Pro 8x32 - This is a monocular, but the unit I have is Made In Japan, I'm happy with the glass and it's a little more compact than a pair of Binos.
I use Armageddon Gear, I have found them to be the best. Nice, Light, Streamlined, and made in USA
Eberlestock makes a nice bag, but it's big, heavy, and not us made
Guys -- I work in engineering for a major manufacturer... I can attest to the fact that EVERYTHING in supply chain is taking longer than normal. It's impacting every thing from silicon to optics... expect anything like this to take a little bit longer... I have an original LRHS... it's a great...
it's not a mutually exclusive choice.. at least for me. I have rifles in both calibers... I'll just make .308 my pandemic / zombie apocalypse rifle... problem solved!
so you screw the adapter onto each rifle.
You have to buy an adapter that screws into your suppressor.
Now you can move the suppressor between rifles.. since they all have the area419 adapter installed. You can also add muzzle brakes and move them around the same way
1.) 5 Months is a short wait for us on the other side of the pond... I've waiting 12 months before!
2.) I don't think I would get a suppressor with aluminum baffles for a 6.5CM/308 caliber rifles that is going to be used in PRS (high round counts).
3.) Area419 if you can get it... that system...
Barring the current insane times, I never had trouble getting components to load for either... I'm also not a member of NATO, where I'm going to need to borrow some ammo from a neighboring country... the fact that's it's a NATO round isn't very helpful for the majority of shooters.
Hornady...
His post was confusing as shit...I'm not an admin, but I figure "tie goes to the runner"...we could have probably done a better job asking a few probing questions to figure out his intent before everyone jumped his ass about selling lol
I know .308 has a lot of sentimental value to folks here... but honestly I don't have any real use for it in a bolt gun anymore... other than plinking.
6.5CM does everything 308 will, and better... even for hunting, anything I would shoot with a 308, I would shoot with a 6.5CM. Don't get me...
